Corvair
Monza 900
Day One of the Restoration Project
This vehicle was stored by its original owner from 1978 until 2000. There is some rust and the engine is not running; however, the motor has been rotated by hand. Disassembly of the body is underway with the deck lid and engine cover sandblasted and primed. Rust removal and replacement of sheet metal should begin in the Summer of 2003. Total rebuild of the brakes is underway (Spring, 2003) with all new parts except for the steel lines and the drums. The suspension and the steering look to be in good condition, needing only replacement of rubber parts. The gas tank has been removed and will require a total replacement. Summer should see the engine pulled and evaluated.
