I've always been drawn to technology that has been around awhile. But there is more to it than that. Things that today may be looked at as old and obsolete were, in their day, cutting edge technology. The prime example of this is the British Motor Corporation's 1100/1300 range of cars. Today they are viewed as quaint, quirky British sedans of the 60s, yet in their day, engineering concepts were put into practice that were unimaginable by the mainstream automotive manufacturers. Concepts like front wheel drive and disc brakes were new and exciting in 1962. These are concepts we take for granted in most cars we drive today.
On this website, I will be showing highlights from my current restoration project, my 1963 MG 1100 Sports Sedan. As you can see from the photo, this is a "ground-up" restoration.
I've owned the oldertech domain name for many years, and I hope to finally allow page to finally reflect my philosophy that sometimes older cutting-edge technology is more interesting than the stuff we are surrounded with today. And you will be able to see some of the older items I have played with through the years
