The Oasis Restaurant on Williamson Road once featured 'Homemade ice cream'. Today the building is home to an "El Rodeo" Mexican restaurant.
WDBJ's radio transmitter building on Colonial Avenue. Built in 1936, it was located in what would eventually become the upper level parking lot of Towers Shopping Center, and was used until the equipment was moved to the lower level of Towers in the late '60s.
