Roanoke's metropolitan hotel, the Ponce De Leon at 2nd and Campbell. (fountain of youth in basement). Rebuilt after fire.


The Elks Club on Jefferson Street.


Virginian Railroad depot. Jefferson St. & Williamson Rd.. Building survives today, but is rapidly deteriorating due to fire damage that has gone unrepaired. At the time this photo was taken, there was a R.R. crossing on Jefferson St., there was no bridge over the tracks.


"Old Woman who Lived in a Shoe" entrance, Mill Mtn. Children's Zoo. Through the turnstile, down the steps and you were in a special place.
