The Omaha Hiking Club is a group for adults of all ages to participate in non-competitive, trail based outdoor activities in the greater Omaha area. It is an informal organization with no membership fees. We are a forum for like-minded adults to arrange opportunities and meet others who share a common interest in participating in outdoor activities. Our Hike Leaders schedule and lead hikes on a volunteer basis. Our leaders pick the place and times when they schedule their hikes. The average distance for one of our hikes is around 4 miles with an average pace of approximately 3 miles per hour. Sometimes the distance of our hikes is longer or shorter and sometimes the pace is faster but rarely slower. The distance and the pace of the hike depends on the Hike Leader, so expect some variance in our outings. Our activities are intended and structured for adult participants, so no children please. Since animals are prohibited at most of our hiking destinations, we request that you leave your animal companions at home.

An email newsletter of upcoming hikes is sent once a month. If you would like to receive this update of events,
please send an e-mail with your request to be included on the e-mailing list.

The Omaha Hiking Club also has portal to increase access to upcoming events. The Omaha Hiking Club “Hike Line” is has a listing of the current month's events and can be reached by all members from a land line or cellular telephone. Cancellations due to weather will be available on the Hike Line.

The Omaha Hiking Club also obeys all posted trail rules and anyone not abiding by them will be asked to leave the group.
