Sunday, November 15,  9:30am
Hitchcock Nature Center
Hike Leader: Mike

Hitchcock Nature Center contains some of the largest remaining prairie remnants in Iowa and provides refuge for plants and animals found nowhere else in the state. We will meet in the parking lot at the Loess Hills Lodge. We will hike both prairie and woodland dirt packed trails with numerous hills. The hike will be between 4 and 5 miles at a moderate pace. Please dress for variable autumn weather, bring water and a light snack to replace lost energy if needed. Hiking poles, or a hiking stick are recommended but neither are necessary for you to enjoy this hike.

Take I-680 or I-29 to Crescent Iowa. Then take Hwy 183 north approximately 5 miles, and follow the signs to Hitchcock Nature Center.  Signs in the park will direct you to the lodge.

Admission is $2 per car. Restrooms are available at the entrance, and the restrooms at Loess Hills Lodge will be open until 5pm.

Thursday, November 26, 9:00am
Zorinsky Lake Recreation Area
Hike Leader:Sheila

The Lake Zorinsky Recreation Area is one of the Omaha area’s most utilized trails located on 168th Street south of Center Street. The trail is 6 foot wide and all concrete. We will walk about 4 miles at a pace slightly over 3 mph to complete the East Side Loop. Get out and exercise before the holiday meal!

Meet promptly at the flagpole at the southeast parking lot of Zorinsky Lake (just west of 156th & F). It is possible that the restrooms may be closed for the season. The hike will be cancelled in the event of rain or snow.

In the event of bad weather, please check the Omaha Hike Line for cancellation information.
