What are Freemasons?

Freemasonry, developed in the Middle Ages, is one of the oldest and largest fraternal organizations in the world.  Noted for their charity and camaraderie, Freemasons tried to emulate Stone Masons by utilizing the images of the working tools to inculcate numerous lessons to its members.  Brotherly love and friendship are the cornerstones of the Masonic community.  There are different organizations within the Masonic family: Masonic Lodge, York Rite, Scottish Rite and Shrine.

Each State has a Grand Lodge as its ruling body.

The local Masonic Lodges function independently following the rules setup by the Grand Lodge.

The officers of the Masonic Lodges are: Master of the Lodge, Senior Warden, Junior Warden, Senior Deacon, Junior Deacon, Senior Stewart, Junior Stewart, Secretary, Treasurer, Chaplin, Marshall and Tyler.
