General Intercessions in the Eucharist

Created by Ormonde Plater, a deacon of the Diocese of Louisiana [The Episcopal Church]

These intercessions are designed to be used with the Revised Common Lectionary, the official eucharistic lectionary of The Episcopal Church.

The biddings are designed to be adapted freely, drawing on the scripture readings, the sermon, and local and contemporary concerns. There is no copyright, and communities do not need to give me credit.

After the invitation to prayer, it is helpful if someone reads names and concerns and then invites all to offer their own, silently or aloud. A deacon or cantor may begin the formal litany by singing the response, which all repeat.
