25TH ANNIVERSARY DAYTONA

PACE CAR REPLICA

Well...

2004 is now mostly history.  This is a year that I will try hard to forget.  I've mentioned before that I have a bad back, and that has severely limited my ability to work on my car.  That situation finally came to a long-awaited conclusion this year.  In March I had major back surgery.  The operation lasted about 9.5 hours and between surgery and the day after I needed 7 units of blood.  I now have an 8.5 inch scar in my "belly" and another 8 inch scar in my back.  They went in front & rear to take out three bad disks and replace them with spacers, screws, rods, bone-growing protein, etc etc.  It just about killed me...

Here's what my back looked like several months ago.  Hopefully the four vertebra and the spacers are now a solid mass of bone.  I just recently started physical therapy.  I'm hoping I can get back to my car next spring...

In the mean time I have had way too much time to think about what I want to do with the car.  And I've spent way too much time on eBay!  I have been stocking up on parts that will hopefully find their way onto or into my car someday.

I now have a set of leather seats out of a 2000 Camaro.  Got the fronts....

...and the backs.

I also picked up a set of forth gen front seatbelts...

...and some seat attachment point covers.

And, the last pic for now, a set of 1994 Firebird 16" stock wheels.  I also have a bunch of small parts and a Painless wiring harness.  It's going to be a busy time someday...

That's all for now.  Check back again later for more.
