Welcome to
Ray and Kara's personal home pageThis is a personal web site for Ray and Kara, a happily married couple. You can read about us, learn a little about us, and also see pictures of our family and friends.
Well, we are Ray and Kara. We live in a completely remodeled 80-plus year-old home with our two black lab mixes, Buster and Gracie, in the South Park neighborhood of San Diego. I was born in November, 1967 and Kara was born in January, 1968. I'm an atheist; Kara is agnostic. (That means we don't believe in any god. You can pray for me if you like - it's your dime - I won't lose any sleep over it). We are also both members of American Mensa and very active in our community.
My biography below was written many years ago and is occasionally updated (last updated in January, 2006). If you really want to know about me, you should read my blog, Comfort for the Enemy, or check out my photostream on Flickr.
I like real jazz (as in, Miles Davis), classical music, and "alternative" (what is that anymore??) music. In high school, I was in marching band (I played the flute) and in my brief college experience, I was a dj at my university radio station. Music has always been very important to me.
When I'm not listening to music, I listen to National Public Radio on KPBS.
I love movies. (Ages ago, I used to work at a movie theatre and at a video store.) My tastes run towards more quality films. (If you're familiar with Duncan Shepherd from the San Diego Reader, I tend to agree with him. I also appreciate classic toons (Chuck Jones is a god) and quality photography. Speaking of Chuck Jones, I was lucky enough to have my picture taken with him about 10 years ago and before he died.
