The photo on the left is my old work photo.
It was taken on Cinco de Mayo, 1999. I look about the same now,
except that I sometimes have a Van Dyke. ![]()
This wasn't the case last year when I was growing out my hair. The photo on the right was taken March 10, 1998, when I had let my hair grow for at least 6 months. (I didn't cut my hair until November of 1998; to see what I look like in a ponytail, take a gander at some pictures from my friend Jeff's wedding or from my cousin Rob's wedding.)
These were taken in
December 1997. I was at the Chuck Jones Gallery in Old Town
for a special reception celebrating his recent 80th birthday. I
dipped into the old credit card and purchased a set of original
drawings from the classic cartoon, "What's Opera Doc?".
If you've seen the toon, you'll recognize the
chaise.
This picture on the left was taken in July or
August of 1997. (As I said before, the flourescent lights at work
make anybody look bad.) This also happens to be my current
official staff photo.
One of my favorite pastimes is changing my
appearance. Yes, this is me as well. The picture was taken in the
fall of 1995 in a little deli in Manhattan.
My job used to require that I travel quite a bit and, for about 2 1/2 years, I basically lived on the road. (I still travel with my job, but not nearly as much as I used to.)
This picture was taken about 4 years ago near
Sundance, Utah. I was in Salt Lake City for 3 weeks on a business
trip, and while there, I got to explore a bit of the outdoors. (I
also got a great shot glass with the slogan "eat, drink, and be
merry, for tomorrow you may be in Utah!")
I was born in Brooklyn, New York, but,
my immediate family moved to San Diego when I was 7 years old.
However, I still have relatives in NY that I visit when I can.
This picture was taken in May of 1993 in front of the Museum of
Modern Art in Manhattan. (You should be able to make out the
museum button on my shirt.) I was hanging out with my cousin that
day and, as I recall, having a really great time.
I mentioned earlier that I used to travel
quite often. Well, I also traveled quite extensively around the
country and, on one occasion, internationally. My company sent me
and a co-worker to Italy for a few weeks in November and December
of 1993. While I was there, I stayed in Vicenza and Aviano,
Italy, with side trips on the weekends to Verona, Venice (Italy),
Frankfurt (Germany), Innsbruck (Austria), Paris (France),
including EuroDisney, and one memorable drive from Paris to
Vicenza with a stop in Geneva (Switzerland). My entire stay was
simply incredible and I'd love to go back to Italy again. I ended
up with a couple hundred photos from the trip and this particular
picture was taken on a bridge over a canal in Venice.
Unfortunately, here I was in one of the most romantic places on
earth with a beautiful woman - the unfortunate part being that
the woman in the picture was my co-worker, she was engaged, and
my girlfriend (at that time) was back in San Diego. Oh,
well...
Finally, I always dress up every
Halloween. This picture was taken at a costume party at a friends
house in 1993. There's a story behind this picture. You see, you
can't tell from this picture, but I was aiming for a
piñata with my sword. Well, right after the swung my
sword... missing the piñata... I instead managed to knock
everything off the table underneath it! Oops...
