We hope that the site provide to our members, pertinent, timely, factual and informative knowledge about their chapter and the world around them.

This site, through all its pages, will relay  information from  a host of sources including our members themselves. IMPORTANT FACTS

  1.   One of the executive committee's positions is that of the treasurer. While that position is important and necessary to the handling of money, the main purpose is to comply with  WAAAUB bylaws and to ensure transparency and accountability in matters involving the collection and disbursements of moneys. The Ohio valley chapter is a non profit organization. Any and all monetary transactions, including fund raising, will be executed in accordance, and consistent, with the laws of the United States, the WAAAUB bylaws, and maintaining the highest standards of ethical and moral responsibility, and best conduct.

  2. The chapter received a one time  $ 1000.00 sum in seed money, from WAAAUB. The treasurer creates a bank account to handle the chapter's business. The chapter is not equipped with credit card machines, or any other transaction processing machines. We appreciate and depend on cash payments for paid events and activities, from members and friends.

  3. Members of the executive committee volunteer their time to the business of the chapter. No member is paid for his/her service.

  4. The executive committee meets once a month and produces a minutes document, which is published too the site for members access.

UPDATE

ON THE BACK BURNER

As a new chapter the executive committee with the daunting task of accomplishing key objectives:

  • Expand the membership of the chapter

  • Establish effective communication channels such as Web page, e-mail, interview and cold calling, mailers, word of mouth etc.

  • Gain the trust of the new membership, and regain that of members who were burnt by experiences with previous committees.

  • Ensure enough bodies are available to complete the tasks of the chapter.

Some of the future ideas being tossed around are:

  • Increase the campaign to expand membership, by soliciting the help of existing members and word of mouth.

  • Encourage and ask members to help with chapter duties and tasks.

  • Continue and increase the frequency of organizing events. After he two Cincinnati and one Columbus events, plans are in the making to arrange an event in Dayton and/or Columbus.

  • Efforts to raise funds to sponsor a local student to travel and study at AUB for a period of time.

  • Develop a marketing strategy to fund educational and scholarship programs.

  • Develop a Logo and image for the chapter. Membership's participation in a contest to create and select the logo.

  • Complete several biographies of prominent chapter members.

chapter goals

Please take a minute to acquaint yourself with the chapter's goals and core values. Many were handed down from WAAAUB, more were added by the executive committee. The Executive committee welcomes the democratic participation of members in voicing their opinions on any of the chapter's constitutional and business issues. Transparency in all matters of the chapter's business, to date  and moving forward,  will be ensured through inclusion and participation of all.
