THIS ENTIRE EVENT IS
SPONSORED BY AMERI-CAMP !!
http://www.amishacres.com/
Explore the historic eighty acre farm and heritage resort and experience the lifestyle of the Amish
through guided tours, farm animals, restaurants, musical theatre, craft demonstrations, and quaint shops.
Escape to Amish Acres and share the heritage of these intriguing people in quiet celebration.
Time stopped over a century ago and preserves in the Amish a way of life nearly forgotten in today's
fast paced world. The legacy of the three generations of the family who lived here is seen and felt
through a nostalgic visit to the homestead.

  • HOUSE & FARM TOUR  Join your guide as you walk through the orchard, past the kitchen garden, through the original house, the main house, the bank barn, and outbuildings. The Amish Acres Farm is the only Old Order Amish farm listed in The National Trust of Historic Preservation.

  • FARM & WAGON RIDE TOUR  The sixteen foot covered farm wagon pulled by an International Harvester H tractor gives guests an overview of the historic farm as it travels down the farm's gravel lanes around the pond, past historic buildings, and through the woods.

  • DOCUMENTARY FILMS; Genesis and Exodus of the Amish, and Bonnets and Britches.

  • Family Style THRESHER'S DINNER to include ALL of the following:, Broasted Country Chicken, Cider-Baked hickory smoked Ham, Ham & Bean Soup, freshly baked Hearth Bread, Fresh Yellow Butter, Sweet & Sour Cabbage Salad, Green Beans with Smoked Side Meat, Beef & Noodles, Mashed Potatoes, Sage Dressing, Giblet Gravy & your choice of Dessert. (Note: Eat all you wish but no food may be carried out.)

  • ROUND BARN THEATRE featuring the Broadway Musical CAROUSEL.

Perhaps only Rodgers and Hammerstein's favorite musical, Carousel, is fitting to follow the opening two shows of the 2008 season, Time magazine named it the "Best Musical of the Twentieth Century." It came on the heals of "Oklahoma" and announced to the world that the musical stage was changed forever. The love story of Billy Bigelow, who is allowed to return to earth for one day after taking his own life, and the sense of hope and dignity that he instilled in his wife Julie Jordan and their child is perhaps Oscar Hammerstein's greatest literary feat. Combined with the music of Richard Rodgers and original dances by Agnes de Mille, the adaptation of Ferenc Molnar's play "Liliom," is a seamless piece of American Broadway musical at the height of its Golden Era. "If I Loved You," "June is Bustin' Out All Over" and "You'll Never Walk Alone" are simply perfect pieces of musical theatre.

Plus a Dinner sponsored by the local Ameri-Camp Dealer !

One day in 1922, George Curtis went outside his Shipshewana home and held an auction for seven cows, six pigs and some cattle.  Curtis' business went well that over the years more people came. Some of them sold cheese and other items out of their car trunks during the auction, eventually giving rise to Shipshewana's renowned flea market.  The auction expanded, as did the flea market, and the nearby Amish began making a presence in town in the 1970s. Living around the area since 1841, the Amish farmed in the outskirts of Shipshewana and started traveling into town for hardware and other supplies.  Today, the flea market houses more than 1,000 vendors, and only 2 percent to 3 percent of the Amish still rely solely on farming.    http://www.shipshewanafleamarket.com/auctionhistory.php

ATTENDANCE OF "SOME OTHER BRANDS":

If you would like to invite friends or relatives (who will be bringing other RV brands) to participate in our rally or would like to attend in your (other brand RV) because you may be interested in purchasing an Ameri-Camp in the future, we are asking that you pay your own way to any Ameri-Camp sponsored events.

Please be aware that we certainly do not want to discourage the participation of other RV brands from attending our "Family of Owners" rally.  Ameri-Camp and the participating Ameri-Camp Dealers consider this an opportunity to reward their customers for their patronage and loyalty by financially sponsoring various events in connection with our rally.  We hope you understand that we can not risk jeopardizing our relationship with Ameri-Camp by asking them to sponsor other brand RV Owners who do not purchase their products. We consider it only fair to ask that Owners of other brands pay for their own attendance at these events in addition to the rally registration fees.
