The ninety-five-acre site is divided into four distinct areas: a traditional farm community of the 1870s, a progressive farmstead of the 1890s, an industrial complex, and a rural town. There are forty-five restored or reconstructed buildings, including the Victorian-style Tift House, a water-powered gristmill, a one-room school, and assorted farmhouses.  Staff members in period costume interpret the history of the wiregrass region of south Georgia by recreating the daily activities of the community in the late nineteenth century. http://www.agrirama.com/main/index.php

The Azalea Trail

Valdosta is known as "The Azalea City" for it's abundance of beautiful azaleas. The city's reputation for azaleas started with the work of R.J. Drexel, parks superintendent, who cultivated and planted azaleas on city streets, the cemetery, and at government buildings. He also encouraged residents to plant them by giving plants to homeowners. Drexel Park at the corner of Brookwood Drive and Patterson Street is named for him. A driving map of the most cultivated azalea areas in the city is available at the V-LC Conference Center and Tourism Authority. 229-245-0513
