CAMBION

A Cambion is a child born of a Human mother and an Incubus father. Children born from such unions are often witches, demons or devils of various degrees and types. There are texts that indicate that the Devil, having made a compact with a witch, gave him or her a low ranking demon, incubus or Cambion, in the shape of a cat or dog to advise the witch and perform small evil errands, including murder. These demons would feed from the witch by drinking his or her blood. Many Cambion came into great power. Merlin, of Arthurian legend, according to some texts was a Cambion. And Cardinal Bellarmin claimed that the antichrist would be born out of a woman having intercourse with an incubus.

Thus, a Cambion is a demonic being that may or may not be kindly disposed towards humans and may develop in a number of different ways with different abilities or purpose. A Cambion may well develop in accordance with the influences surrounding them during their development. They may look like angels or they may take on the forms of devils.

Most texts refer to Cambion as a type of vampire that feeds from the life force and steals the soul of their victim. For example, in medieval times, the Succubus, Incubus and Cambion were seen as fearsome creatures that killed their victims by drinking their breath which at that time, was seen as a part of the person's spirit, and in doing so, the demon thought to be stealing the victim's soul. Others say that these demons kill their victims over time and many visitations. Sinistiri says that incubi and such demons are not the same as common devils: they ignore exorcism, and laugh at holy relics.

The Cambion can extend their influence over a wide area, whole towns have come under the corrupting influence of a Cambion until the demon is hunted down and destroyed, the people in the town will grow progressively more deviant and perverse.

It is natural to assume that as the cambion is a demon they are also evil. The cambion may argue that there is no true good or evil, just simply the nature of the beast. In Baby's case she is a tormented victim of her own nature a beautiful soul in conflict with the very nature of the cambion's perversity and corrupting influence. As a demon she is an infant, developing, shaped by the influences of those closest to her, her abilities growing, her affect cast over her surroundings increasing as time passes and she grows stronger.
