2004-2005 Paloma PTA Fundraising

Fall Fundraiser

Catalogs will come home September 15th, Internet sales will also start then. Orders are due October 4th and will arrive November 4th.

Please contact Beth Doney if you would like to assist in this vital fundraising opportunity for Paloma school.

Donate up to $250 to support extra-curricular activities and get it ALL back as a Tax Credit later!

While this is not a PTA fundraiser, we strongly encourage you to participate in this great way to raise money for extra-curricular activities at Paloma. Simply stop by the school office, send in the donation form, or donate online at www.kyrene.org. You'll receive a receipt for your records and may claim an equal amount in state tax credits. (Remember that total school donations eligible for the tax credit are limited to $250 for married couples and $200 for those filing single or head of household. Contact your tax advisor for additional information about this tax credit.)

Before you donate, check with your employer for matching grant programs. Many corporations require a form to be submitted to the school at the time of the donation in order for the school to receive a matching donation from the corporation.

Some activities that have been supported by this over the years include lunch recess clubs, Garden Club, Yearbook Club, Family Technology Nights, field trips, and assemblies. Funds can be designated for specific uses, but keep in mind that activities can only be supported if enough funds are raised for them and there are people willing to organize them (either volunteers or employees paid with these funds). A general purpose donation allows the Collaborative Team the most flexibility in providing activities that benefit the most children.

Thank you to all who have already donated!

Read-a-thon

Date: February 28-March 4, 2005

Students will receive an envelope prior to the event, and will be encouraged to gain sponsorship for minutes read during the read-a-thon. The students will read, or be read to, for a maximum of 100 minutes (or 20 minutes per day) during the event. At the conclusion of the week, students will collect their pledge monies. Proceeds from this event will be used to support literacy at Paloma.

School Rebates

There are many companies that would like to reward parents for shopping with them by donating to community schools. The Paloma PTA attempts to take advantage of these opportunities as much as possible. If we have missed something you think could be a worthwhile source of donations and/or fundraising, please contact the Paloma PTA treasurer. Here are the programs we currently participate in.

Grocery store rebates:

Local grocery stores offer programs that link your grocery savings cards to the school. The PTA earns rebates on your purchases when you link your card and present it when shopping.

Albertson's Community Partners - You can sign up online at www.albertsons.com for a Community Partners card and link it to your Preferred Savings card. To link to our school, use our Community Partner ID # 49000105338. If you do not have a Preferred Savings Card, you can obtain one online or at any Albertson's store. Albertsons's will donate 4% of purchases to our school!

Basha's Thanks a Million - You can sign up online at www.bashas.com for a Basha's Thank You card. Our group ID # is 25808. Basha's will donate 1% of purchases, up to a $2500 donation for our school!

Fry's VIP Cool Ca$h - You can sign up online at www.frysfood.com for a VIP card. More information will come home soon on how to link to our school.

Safeway www.escrip.com - More information will come home soon.

Local restaurant rebate programs:

Pepperoni's Pizza and Wings, located on the SW corner of Kyrene Rd. and Chandler Blvd. (on the Kyrene side of Basha's), will donate 20% of your pizza purchases to the Paloma PTA on Paloma Curriculum Nights. A flyer with details will come home in backpacks.

BJ's Restaurant and Brewery, located at the Chandler Fashion Center, will donate 15% of your purchases to the Paloma PTA from 5-9 p.m. on October 5, 2004.

Other store rebate programs:

Target Take Charge of Education Program - Target will donate 1% of Target Visa and Target Guest Card purchases made at Target and target.com, and 1/2% of Target Visa purchases made elsewhere, to the eligible K-12 school of your choice.  To sign up for a card or LINK your existing card, go to www.target.com, click on the Take Charge of Education link at the bottom of the page, and use Paloma’s ID # 25592 to link to our school. Target supports schools in a variety of ways, including grants and rebates. To participate in the rebate program, apply for a Target credit card and link your card to Paloma. Your purchases with the card are eligible for school rebates.

Food label rebates:

Eligible Campbell's products

Eligible Box Tops products

Eligible Tyson products

Send product labels to school with your child. See information on eligible products and what to submit in the links to the sides. We'll take care of the rest.

To help with collection and redemption of any of the above, join the No Cost Fundraiser Committee.

You don't need to be a parent or teacher to help! Send labels with a neighbor's child or drop them off in the office.

Internet rebate programs:

Earn money for Paloma every time you shop on the internet if you go through the SchoolPop site to reach your preferred on-line merchants. You must be registered, with Paloma chosen as your school, for Paloma to receive eligible rebates.

All you need to register is an email address and first and last name. None of this information is distributed or sold and you can request during registration to receive no notices.

Event Proceeds

While all of our
events are planned with the needs of the school community as the primary focus, some of them serve a secondary fundraising role. If you would like to help with any of these events, please contact a board member or the coordinator of the event.
