2004-2005 Paloma PTA Fundraising |
|
Please contact Beth Doney if you would like to assist in this vital fundraising opportunity for Paloma school.
While this is not a PTA fundraiser, we strongly encourage you to participate in this great way to raise money for extra-curricular activities at Paloma. Simply stop by the school office, send in the donation form, or donate online at www.kyrene.org. You'll receive a receipt for your records and may claim an equal amount in state tax credits. (Remember that total school donations eligible for the tax credit are limited to $250 for married couples and $200 for those filing single or head of household. Contact your tax advisor for additional information about this tax credit.)
Before you donate, check with your employer for matching grant programs. Many corporations require a form to be submitted to the school at the time of the donation in order for the school to receive a matching donation from the corporation.
Some activities that have been supported by this over the years include lunch recess clubs, Garden Club, Yearbook Club, Family Technology Nights, field trips, and assemblies. Funds can be designated for specific uses, but keep in mind that activities can only be supported if enough funds are raised for them and there are people willing to organize them (either volunteers or employees paid with these funds). A general purpose donation allows the Collaborative Team the most flexibility in providing activities that benefit the most children.
Thank you to all who have already donated!
Students will receive an envelope prior to the event, and will be encouraged to gain sponsorship for minutes read during the read-a-thon. The students will read, or be read to, for a maximum of 100 minutes (or 20 minutes per day) during the event. At the conclusion of the week, students will collect their pledge monies. Proceeds from this event will be used to support literacy at Paloma.
