Introduction to the Science Flying and Fun Show
Dear Teachers, The Science, Flying, and Fun Show is an educational program that teaches kids how they can explore the world like a scientist. The show follows this format: First, the show introduces the audience to problem solving with the Scientific Method: ( 1. Asking questions, 2. Gathering information, 3.Making a guess, 4. Testing that guess, 5. Telling others what you have found. ) For example: We ask the question, "Can we make this paper strong enough to hold up a large book?" Then we go through the five steps of the scientific method to explore this question. Secondly, once everyone is familiar with the scientific method we start using it to have fun exploring movement and air.
For example: Two students get to come up on stage and help me launch a balloon rocket! Thirdly, the show is summed up with the whole audience going through the five steps to find an answer to the question: "Can we make a bag float up to the ceiling using just hot air?" The show is best performed with the students seated on the floor and will run 45 minutes. Thank you for your time! Sincerely, Chris Carbone
