The Dentist Chair

I'm feeling just a bit of fright
there he stands, dressed in white.
He smiles wide... and with delight.

I sit quietly in this chair,
deep inside I shake with fear.
Wake me from this cruel nightmare.

Speaking with professional pride,
"Open wide, let's look inside."
All I want to do is hide.

That prickly shot of Novocain
to help eliminate the pain.
Why can't it also numb my brain.

First the sound of the drill.
Then he says, "I'm going to fill."
Down my spine I get a chill.

The oral nightmare will end soon,
my lips feel like a big baboon's.
This took place one day in June.
