History Shawn Neal Pete Padilla Salvador Martinez These dedicated golfers made the long trip to Brownsville Texas where Wichita Kansas was admitted. Phillip Leon won election to the office of National President in 1975 and served during the 1976-1977 term. Joe Rodriguez served as National Presidental advisor under Presidents; David Longoria and Raymond T. Reyes from 1985-1990. He also served on the National Constitution and By-Laws and the National Tournament Rules and Guidelines committees during that same time period. In March of 1990, Wichita hosted it's first ever National Event. The National Winter Meeting brought participant from most of the 42 chapters. A severe ice storm hit the nite before and the tournament was cancelled. Due to very good planning however, everyone enjoyed other forms of entertainment and fun. In 2000 the National Seniors Tournament was held in Wichita. Wichita senior golf members made a good showing having placed in several flights. May of 2003 will bring another major tournament in Wichita. More information will be made available as the time draws nearer.
