Who is Veril?

Veril is my name for the figure you'll find on the back of my business cards and on the top of a walking stick which I sometimes carry with me.

Among African tribal societies, he is known as the Thinking Man. Shamans of different tribes would place the figure outside their home when they were present in camp and available for consultation; and would bring it inside when they were busy or occupied.

The Thinking Man represents the powers of Observation, Foresight, Passive Aggression and Wisdom. He learns through patient observation of others; teaches through awakening and encouraging their potential and allows them to learn from their own mistakes.

What is Jungian Shamanism?

Jungian Shamanism is just one example of a scientific approach towards ministry. If sacraments, sacred spaces and oration/dramatization are the tools that a minister uses, Jungian Shamanism could be considered the skills and methods through which those tools are employed.

It is the goal of this ministry not only to use these skills to unify and motivate people of like mind, but to teach the rudimentaries of these skills in order to enable perspective ministers to form their own unique ministries.

Jungian Shamanism is a three-fold science of Hermetics, Myomancy and Personography.

Hermetics is the use and manipulation of environments in order to reach desired effects in human behavior. Similar to how a Montessori School creates a relaxed, home-like atmosphere in order to make teaching more effective. In Religious and Spiritual Contexts, this is the science of seeking out 'power spots' and the practice of rituals that allow others to focus, channel, and harness their own personal, spiritual power.

Myomancy is the reading of simple signs in the environment and people--omens, portents and seemingly micro-scopic (often, un-noticed) changes in people and places that 'tip off' the shaman to the outcome of events that are happening around him and provide some insight as to what will happen in the future.

Personography is the mapping of personalities, abilities and ecological factors and their relation to their community. The Shaman of the tribe was often consulted for things like trade aptitude, personal health and wellness of both the tribe and the individual.

They are based on the research of Carl Jung, who took all religions, belief structures, tribes and congregations and broke them down into these three sciences. Because he realized that humans are natural and life-long learners, that they do not require a classroom and studying in order to acquire knowledge and maintain order. That it could all be done through manipulations to the environment and the establishment of tradition.

His work is being continued through organizations such as the
Enticy Institute, Jung Circle and the Society of the Golden Dawn.

What I am trying to do is take their work out of the classroom, out of books, off the internet, and into real-life practice. Because I believe that it is possible to build strong, successful, vibrant communities through these sciences, since traditions are the basis of every successful community.

Through mastering these skills, it is possible to revive an old religion, maintain an existing one or even create a religion of your own.

I use a process called Mithraism in order to connect folklore and mythology with history through the exploration of paradigms (constants).

This works off the belief that folklore and mythology are figurative representations of real life events occurring within the closely-knit settings of tribalism and community--as established by such modern-day philosophers as
Fritjof Capra. Universals (that is, something that is present across cultures and throughout time--such as various personality traits and societal problems) are represented in mythology and folklore by gods, demons, sins, virtues and acts of god(s).

Jungianism assumes that these universals are present in every community through examining specific personality traits. The term 'god' can be used as a metaphor for the humans that have achieved the social rank of accomplishing a standard of uniqueness within those communities and the immortality is a metaphor for that uniqueness.

Mithraism allows practitioners of Jungian Shamanism to construct a timeline of personalities that have existed across cultures and around the world and thus apply the lessons taught via Folklore & Mythology to real life.

Jungianism is the process of manipulation: what we do to ourselves, our environments and to other people that allows us to take advantage of the uniqueness of those personalities.

Shamanism then becomes the diagnosis and the treatment: Who/Where are you along this timeline and what can we do to get you a little closer to where you need to be?

As a Shaman, I can perform this service on an individual level as a Consultation or for a group of people acting as a Congregation.

A Consultation is a Home or Sanctuary Visit usually taking place by appointment. During a consultation, I use the sacraments along with the techniques above in order to improve our communication so that I can take a picture of your life and the issues effecting it. This allows me to zero-in on your strengths and weaknesses so that you can more effectively identify obstacles, meet challenges, learn, heal and live happily.

I am encouraging Congregations to meet me twice a weekday either in the Valley or Sanctuary (depending on the weather), I am also available by appointment for a group of your choice. When I am working with a group of people, I use the same techniques to create what is called a Least Restrictive Environment. This is a safe, secure place that is without boundaries which establishes a Core Behavior as a point of Unity. This allows the group participants to find common ground and come together in order to Communicate, Educate and Understand each other more effectively. Because it is an environment without borders, the group is left with their goals and obstacles more visible and are able to progress at their own pace and reach their full potential.

This Ministry serves to utilize the science of Jungian Shamanism in order to revive the Arcadian Belief, which is centered upon self-governance, self-accountability and self-responsibility. A philosophy otherwise known as Anarchism.

People hex and bless themselves and their communities through the rituals and routines that they bring into their own lives.
