Pre-Production After the script was re-written, I went through and made a list of all the shots we needed. I was very specific - wide shot of Jack and Penny coming through the door, close-up of Penny looking through the mail, wider shot from Jack's perspective, and on and on. By the time I was done, the shot list was as long as the script! And I was really concerned about whether we could really get everything shot in just two days. Rich pointed out that I was over-complicating things, so I went back over it and simplified it a lot. Wide shots, medium shots, and close-ups for each scene, plus any specific insert shots. I also made lists of props, locations, and costume suggestions. I had already started the casting process, and I made sure everyone got a copy of the re-written script. |
