English Bible Study

Looking at the past year, the Lord has continued to work in the English Youth & Young Adult Ministry in several ways. At the English Bible Study every other week, Rev.Ken Brackney started the first part of the year studying the book of the James, and how it applies to our daily lives. This current semester, He is teaching 1 John.

At our English Sunday School, we have been studying in depth the book of Matthew this past year, looking at the teachings of Jesus and his entire life. We should finish the study soon, and will begin studying the life of Moses.

In our Friday Night Fellowship Youth Group this past year, we have studied a series called "Edge TV", which depicts the life of youth and the struggles they face. Also, currently, we are discussing love, purity, and trust, from the video series of Joshus Harris. Some of the activities we have had this past year have been apple picking/hiking at Skyline drive, singing carols and passing out presents at the local nursing home, collecting food for the Peninsula Food Bank, skiing at Wintergreen, attending the Lynchburg retreat, and helping out at the car wash fund raising.

Although our numbers are small, we are encouraged to see new faces attending our Friday Night Fellowship. We ask for your continued prayers for our youth and young adults to reach out to the surrounding community and provide workers to help and serve in this ministry, so that others will come to know Jesus Christ personally.
