Hampton Bible Study

The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few (Luke 10:2).

Although we are not strong enough, we are willing to be small soldiers of Jesus Christ to serve as "door-mat" for preaching the gospel and leading people to believe in Christ. Currently, we have scheduled to meet at least once a month, opening our house to invite gospel-seekers and no-believer friends to the bible study. The number of participants ranges between 10's to 30's. Brother Hou has served to lead the study. We discussed a specific topic each time, such as Security in daily life, the master of the universe.

The participants are all newcomers who came to this area within one or two years and are currently working at Hampton University or NASA. Most of them are scholars from China and many of them seem never heard of the gospel before, therefore we think that they should have the feeling of spiritual needs.

Since all of them are highly educated, we usually have very rigorous arguments during the discussions. Thanks God for giving us a common understanding to acknowledge that God is ruling the world.

Under the guidance of brother Hou, we also did some visitations to understand their needs in daily life and to exchange views on spiritual topics. We believe all these will be helpful to them to know God better.

Thanks to our Lord, Mr and Mrs. Yang and Su Wen Ying have already made their decision to believe in Christ. Mr. and Mrs. Yang will be baptised on November 11 to become members of the family of Christ.

We firmly believe that "All scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correction, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."[Timothy II 3:16-17]. God's word will continue to be the message of our bible study. May God multiplicatively touch our heart so that we will be able to preach the gospel to nonbelievers better and in deeper aspect.
