The Williamsburg Bible Study consists mainly of students and their family members from the College of William and Mary. However every brother and sister and everyone who wants to seek God's word are welcome to join us. We meet every Friday (6:00 -- 10:00Pm) at Walnut Hill Baptist Church in Williamsburg. Several brothers and sisters are serving there. Currently we are didived into three groups: two classes for nonbelievers and one class for disciple training. The number of attendants are about 30. Our program starts with having dinner together (provided by people serving and partcipants). We sing hymns and have some time for sharing right after dinner. This is followed by bible study and discussions. Every time we have 3 to 5 people working together to clean up the kitchen and meeting place.
Every Tuesday night(8:00 - 9:00 pm), there is a prayer meeting aiming for the coworkers of Williamsburg Bible Study Group. Several brothers and sisters come regularly to pray for the kingdom of God. The prayer meeting is conducted at Walnut Hills Baptist Church. After the prayer, the pastor and those who are leading the bible study will read the scripture in preparation for Friday's studies; aiming to be strenghten through prayer and to be well equipped with God's word.
Thanks God for using us in His ministry. Since December 2000, there have been eight brothers and sisters baptised into the mame of Lord Jesus Christ. A couple of gospelseeking friends also made their decision to accept Jesus as their personal savior. The bearing of these fruits brings great joy to all the brothers and sisters serving there. Beginning from October, serveral coworkers were assigned to lead in singing hymns and during the sharing time so that they will have the opportunity to learn to serve and to depend on Christ through prayer.
But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life[Jude 20-21].
