Hello and welcome to my web page. I am a locomotive
engineer for CSXT and have been one for 26 years. I started my career
with the L&N in 1971 as a clerk and transferred to transportation in 1972 as
a trainmen/conductor. In 1976 I started training as an engineer and trained
mostly under my very good friend and mentor Arthur John Glover. I owe
a great deal to him for the love I have for running locomotives and
railroading in general. My dad was a clerk with the L&N also from 1942
to 1976 when he retired, and before that he was a clerk with the New Orleans
Public Belt railroad. One thing that I can say is that railroading is
in my blood and I have enjoyed it for most of my career. With the
advent of remote control engines, things have changed. I never thought
things would go the way they have, but this is technology for you, engines
running around without engineers on board.
I hope with this web page to be able to share some of the
hobbies that I enjoy the most from scuba diving to model railroading.
I have been very blessed to have a wife for 30 years that loves me and puts
up with all the different hobbies I have had. There will be articles
by my high school friend and now co worker Jimbo Simmons who is a dive
instructor. I have been diving since 1994 and only wish I had done it
sooner. I have always enjoyed the water from the time I would go
fishing and shrimping with my dad to the time I owned my own shrimp boat.
As they say " the best day of a mans life is when
he buys his boat and the next is when he sells it".
I hope you will enjoy reading the articles about the
dive trips and pictures that will be here from time to time.
