MECHANICAL JOURNAL

The first engine lasted about a year.
I replaced it with another 250 inline 6.
The second also lasted about a year.
I blew the head gaskets on both these engines.
We figured the overheating cracked the heads.

At this point I was going to install a 350 V8 out of a 1970 Skylark.
I even fixed the engine up with some paint and a 2 barrel to 4 barrel carburetor conversion.
I moved before I could put the engine in and subsequently sold it.

Now I have a nice Chevy 305/700R4 (out of an 85 Camaro) that is going in.

I bought all the accessories I wanted:

I have a 1975 Nova parts car for some little things:

  • Leaf springs
  • power steering gearbox
  • power brake booster (maybe)
  • Wiper motor
  • Gas tank (maybe)
  • Glove box door
  • Radio (maybe)

I have purchased everything I think I need to bolt everything in:

  • Correct Frame mounts
  • V-8 motor mounts
  • Transmission cross member

Modifications:
Drive shaft may need to be shortened
Dual Exhaust
Paint: Pontiac Blue, Black dual stripes, black top
Manual steer to power steering
Manual brakes to power brakes
14" Chevy rims to 15" Pontiac rims

Maybe it will be running by the end of April
