1/31/2000 Happy Monday! I'm back! Actually, I got back from my Taiwan trip a week and a half ago. I even stopped off in Southern Cal for the last leg of my world tour. Just been lagging on my journal updates. *sowie* My Taiwan trip was good. We spent most of it visiting relatives and friends, eating yummy food, sleeping, and partying. Oh, and Lollicups!...the best thing to happen to Boba teas! Wil, Tony, and I had to get our "fix" everyday! =) Wil and Tony got their wedding pictures taken, and they look AMAZING! I'll try to post a few up when I get the chance. Their banquet went really well too, although I had a rental dress from hell. One of the straps broke off during lunch, so we ended up cutting it and tying it like a halter. There was also this padding thing they put inside the dress that kept creeping up. I was fidgeting with the dress the whole time! Luckily the dress came with a wrap, which I kept wrapped around me tight the whole time. I saw a bunch of relatives and family friends that I haven't seen in ages. Of course the most popular question during the whole trip was: "so when are you getting married?" *shrug* I don't think girls have any control over that. We hung out with Alex a lot. Jackie was in China filming her soap opera most of the time, but we did go out one night all together. They took us to 'Milk', a retro-lounge. When you first walk in, it's just a corridor....a bar on your right, and industrial refrigerators (with glass doors) line the wall on your left. In the refrigerators, it's fully stocked with bar stuff, and a milk display, where it's full of empty milk containers (like the "got Milk" ad). You even hang your jacket in the "refrigerator" before entering the lounge. It was pretty cool. You enter the lounge through a sliding silver door. It's pretty small Inside...it's a room full of couches, and pillows, and a bed. The room is all white with lots of blue lights, for that "cold refrigerator" effect. They play trance music, and project images onto the wall. People just kick it, sip drinks, and smoke. The cool thing was that Jordan Chan was there! He's this HK singer/movie star...mostly gangster movies. Last time I went to Taiwan, Sarah, Joyce, Liz, Stacey, and I watched him perform live at this concert. I even have his CD at home, so you can imagine how exciting it was. Sarah would freak if she found out...she loves Jordan. He's so cute! In person, he's so laid back...he had on jeans, a sweatshirt, and a baseball cap. There were other movie stars, singers, and models there, but no one I knew. Alex was like, "oh, there's Yuki, she's a famous singer"....but I didn't know which girl he was referring to. Everyone there was beautiful. We kicked it at 'Milk' for a little bit, had test tube shots, then we went to 'Opium Den'. 'O.D.' was super packed! There was no room to sit or stand, you just had to keep moving, till you found a small space to stand for a little bit before you get pushed along again. We hung out there most of the night. There were a lot of ravers there. By the 4am, Alex and Jackie wanted to move the party to 'Club TU', but I couldn't hang anymore....you know, gettin' old. hehehe A big THANKS to Alex and Jackie for a great time!
I spend the last five days of my vacation in Irvine with Aric. Bett met me down there on the 21st. We celebrated Wey's birthday at Honda Ya in Tustin. Honda Ya is pretty cool, their specialty is kabobs/yakitori (chicken, beef, beef tongue, meatballs, liver, etc...on sticks). Mmmmmmm. =) Of course everyone fills up on beer instead. Lucille came down from UCLA to party with us. It was great hanging out with her again. On Saturday, we went to Rob's birthday BBQ. Then we continued his party at Miyagi's. That guy started drinking from noon until well after midnight....I was expecting him to pass out or puke or both, but he didn't. Pretty damn good! I went through almost two rolls of film from both nights, so I'll post pics up soon. Aside from the cold and rain, this past weekend was pretty fun. I hung out with Wing on Friday night. We played Playstation games and rented "The Thirteenth Warrior". I'm not a big Antonio Banderas fan, and I'm still not. The movie was alright, I guess. It had an interesting beginning, but a weak ending. Wing introduced me to the Dreamery...for you ice cream lovers, try the Chocolate Peanut butter Cup, and the Raspberry Avalanche ....but not together (*ugh* my tummy)! =P Saturday, I laid in bed till 1:30pm. I know, I know...I'm such a lazy piglet. But lounging around in bed is one of my greatest joys. Wil, Ivy, and I headed up to the City for our eye-exam with Dr. Cin around 3pm. After our eye-exam, Ivy, Wil, Cin and I went for drinks at Chevy's while we waited for Tony and Matt. From there, Wil, Ivy, Tony and I went to PlanetSteve's birthday dinner! PlanetSteve's dinner was at Sam Tung (on 12th and Irving)...this place is nicknamed "sweaty-balls". I'm assuming it's because they specialize in spicy food. But still....GROSS! Polly Esther's was next on the agenda for PlanetSteve's party. Polly Esther's is always interesting. And last Saturday was no exception. The place was packed and the crowd was wild. Girls were dancing on the bar! Oh, and check this out...this one girl (who's like, a friend of a friend), got up on the bar, got freaky, then decided to fall face down into her circle of unsuspecting friends (mosh-pit style). It was the most painful, yet funniest shit I've seen in a long time...and it all happened kind of slow motion, right in front of me. When she fell forward, she threw her arms out like she was flying...her friends all put their arms out to catch her, but there was much hesitation. My friends instinctively put their hands out...until it caught her chest area, then the guys jerked their hand back. Her fall was pathetically broken, but she still ended up on the floor. It was crazy! I'm sure she felt no pain at the time (due to the alcohol), but I'm sure she's sportin' two bruised knees, and possibly a sprained wrist. Yesterday we had a Super Bowl get together at my house with Charlotte, Ivy, Bett, Matty, Cin, Wil, and Tony. I'm not really into football, but it was fun watching everyone yell and jump up and down. Especially Tony...what an animal! Well, here's something to brighten up everyone's Monday (got it last week, but it's too good not to share). *Hubba-hubba*
Have a nice day! |

1/6/2000 Alright, I had a wierd dream last night involving my friend, Will. What made it more weird was that he called this morning about meeting up for lunch. Doo-doo-doo-doo-Doo-doo-doo-doo (twilight zone tune). Bizarre coincidence. Having dreams about your friends in "that" way...is a little awkward. Not to say that the dream was sexual or perverted (I try to reserve those for Aric...hehehe), but to envision your friends in a romantic way...is weird. Especially when your dreams are so realistic. I once had a dream that my sister's fiance greeted me at the airport with a deep passionate kiss. The next morning, when I went to brunch with my sister and Tony...I swear, I couldn't look him in the eye when he talked to me. He thought I was so rude. But I felt so twisted having dreamt that. I finally had to tell them, and they both laughed at me. =T Anyhow, lunch was cool. Will and I went to this Tofu place on El Camino. I told him about my dream and I joked about seeing him shirt-less. Since he knows that I post my dream in my dream log, he requested that I make him look better....Dude, it's my dream, not yours! *sigh* Very well...Ladies, Will's got a very nice, er, chest. =) Well, tonight I'm packing. I'm leaving for Taiwan tomorrow night. It should be fun. Wil and Tony are getting their wedding pictures taken and they're having a reception for all of our relatives, and his relatives, who won't be able to make it to the real thing. Wil and Tony can re-enact how they met 5 years ago, on the " Love Boat" trip. hehehehe It'll be nice to see Alex and Jackie again. I hear that both of their careers are really taking off. Last time I went back, I went shopping with Alex and Jackie, and a bunch of teeny-boppers, in their school uniforms, were pointing and following Alex (prounounced Ai-leh-cah-se in chinese).
Jackie is shooting a soap opera in China, as well as modeling and doing commercials.
I just hope they don't make me eat dog-meat...like they keep saying they're going to. =/ Have a nice day! |

1/5/2000 Today is one of those hectic days. Nothing too exciting going on. I have to pick up my passport, and I'm looking forward to the traffic on the way back (sarcasm). Traffic in the Bay Area is unbearable....and it gets worse everyday. Check this out, it takes me an hour to get to and from work (and I only live 16 miles away)! Crazy! I have coworkers who drive from Oakland to Sunnyvale, and it takes us the same amount of time to get to work. That doesn't make sense. On a lighter note...here
is a picture of my friend's baby boy-

1/4/2000 HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my FBIL (future bro-in-law) Tony! And Dave, my Hawaiian homie, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Brah! This morning I drove to the City to apply for a new passport. I swear, I have the worst luck with my passport. The year I went to Taiwan with Lucille, I couldn't find my passport. It got packed away in some boxes, when my family moved, and I couldn't find it. So when I went to apply for another one, they sweated me for not having a birth certificate. I only have my original Taiwan passport, where the picture is of a three year old kid that looks nothing like me. So to process all the necessary information, I wouldn't get it in time for my trip. For 3 days, I went through ALL the boxes in the garage, and finally found it. *whew* The year I went to Taiwan with Sarah, Joyce, Liz, and Stacey...my travel agent said my Visa was expired. I had two days before my trip to go to the Taipei Economic Center, and see about getting a new or extended Visa. When I got there, they said that it wasn't even expired...so I stressed for no reason...travel agent was a moron! And now this...an expired passport! *sigh* Well, it'll be ready by tomorrow afternoon, and I'll be good to go by Friday night. I like to live dangerously. *grin* Last night we had Girl's Nite and got all of Wil's wedding invitations squared away. Bett did stamps, Cin did return cards, Ivy and Wil did invites, I did maps, and we all did the final stuffing. No offense or anything, but wouldn't e-vites be easier? hehehe I love Girl's Nites though....especially with these girls....it's a time where we catch up, reminisce, lovingly rip into one another, and laugh our heads off. By the way, Cin had to clown me...she said that in my "dream log", there is no such word as "drempt"...it's "dreamt". So I stand corrected. Uh, thanks
Cin....I guess. Tonight, we're taking Tony out to dinner. =) Have a nice day! |

1/3/2000 How was everyone's New Years? Mine was cool. I spent it at home with my family and my parent's friends. That very anticipated evening ended, much to my relief, quite normally (see, Mike...see, Aric). Although by countdown, I was pretty plastered. Usually at countdown and Auld Lang Syne, I get all teary-eyed, but I was too tossed to get emotional this time...it was such a blur. I do remember falling down though. It's a problem I have when I drink. My friends are all too familiar with this one: Peg, stairs, and drinking is not a good combination. HAHAHAHA Anyhow, I wasn't too bad. I didn't throw up like some people (Heather!), nor did I pass out (Wil!). I struggled and managed to clean up the kitchen (on what I thought was a broken leg) after everyone left. I spent New Year's day nursing a mild hangover. From all the empty bottles in the garage, we went through 18 bottles of wine, a liter of Remy, a liter of Jack, and a whole lotta beer. *zoiks!* That night, Wil, Tony, Harrison, and I met Cin, Matt, and Ivy for dinner. Afterwards, Franco came over and we kicked it at Cin and Matt's for poker and movies. I love kickin' it at Matt and Cin's...they have such a cozy place! They always have something baking in the oven and a fridge stocked with Hawaiian Punch. =) Oh, it was also Ann's birthday. She's a New Year's baby! COOL! I stayed home Sunday...lounged around and watched 80's movies. 80's movies are the best! My webpage got a lot of hits over the weekend, and I got a bunch of new g-book entries. Thanks to everyone who emailed me encouraging critiques! Especially you, Matty, for your 2 cents regarding "Treating your Girlfriend Right". Aric added his view on that same subject, so go check it out (Sonic's cloud). Tonight, we're having Girl's Nite in Palo Alto. Have a nice day! |

12/30/99 YAY! TGIF!....okay, I know it's only Thursday, but I'm off tomorrow, so it's a "Friday" by definition. There are so many parties going on tomorrow night, in the City, but I'm staying home. My parents are throwing their annual New Year's karaoke party at our house. My sisters and I will be in charge of the same thing: serving guests & washing dishes....oooh, fun. I remember last year, when my parents had their party...Cin, Matt, Ivy, Erik, Wil, Tony, Sho, and I locked ourselves in the library with some beer, and engaged in a quiet game of Tabboo, Mind Trap, and Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. All the while, you can hear the parents whoopin' it up, smackin' the tamborines, and practically swinging from the chandelier. Crazy folks! Just in case though...I think this year, right before midnight, I'll prepare some candles, flashlights, and emergency EXIT signs. hehehehe Seriously though, I'd be lying if I didn't say this whole New Years thing didn't make me nervous. I think this year had seen an unusual amount of natural disasters and national devastations. *shake head* I know, I know...I'm being paranoid....it's all Aric and Mike's fault! In any case, being the optimist that I am, I wish everyone a fun New Years Eve!...but I highly recommend wearing a bullet proof vest, and maybe even some protective head gear...oh, and beware of people wearing long coats and carrying assault weapons. (Dammit, Aric and Mike!) =P Wishing you all a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Years! Stay safe, and I'll be seeing you next year. *peace*joy*love* for Y2K! Have a great day! Countdown: 1 more day till Y2K! |

12/29/99 Remember that stupid cold I caught? Well it struck me down hard! I stayed home and slept all day yesterday. I'm feeling much better now, even though some of my co-workers walk by, stop, and go, "whoa, you look terrible!" Gee, thanks. I was supposed to go out to dinner with my RBQs last
night, but I didn't have the strength. It's such a shame too, because
Joyce flew in from Japan, and May flew in from Hawaii.
I'm really surprised that I didn't get any responses over my last journal entry. I figured that everyone would have something to say about loyalty, jealousy, or fine lines drawn in relationships. I thought perhaps my views would bring on the battle of the sexes. But nada...nothing...zilch. Now when did my readers become so shy? *wink* Very well then, I'll take that as a positive sign. I've been working on my New Year's resolutions. It's the same every year, but I feel more confident this year in achieving them. Wish me luck! Peg's Top 5 New Year's Resolutions: 1. Manage money wisely
(put away 25%) 2. Be punctual 3. Exercise 4. Drink more water & avoid carbonated drinks (this one's tough since I love soda) 5. Be more responsible (oil changes, tunes ups, etc...fall into this category). Have a good day! Countdown: 2 more days till Y2K! |

12/27/99 Ugh!...Monday....back to work. Did everybody have a nice Christmas? Our family celebrates Christmas on Christmas Eve, and we open our gifts at midnight. It was fun, as always, and everyone got a lot of cool stuff. The most popular gift that night was a talking Pokemon watch given to my niece, Marisa, by Matt and Cin. It was getting passed around so much that she got all huffy-puffy. =) Wil, Tony, Ivy, Oli, Darwin, Will, and I spent Christmas at Cin and Matt's. We caught a matinee of "The Talented Mr. Ripley"....which was an interesting movie (dark and twisted)...The story follows Tom Ripley who travels to Italy to coax a young American, Dickie Greenleaf, back to his wealthy father. Tom is unsuccessful at his mission. And through his logic, Tom in desperation, has no other choice but to kill the young man, then assume his identity (well, it seems logical to Tom), and lives the life of a rich playboy...for a while. Matt Damon is an amazing actor, and Jude Law is positively gorgeous. The movie is kind of long (2 hours and 20 minutes), but if you have the time, I recommend checking it out. Anyhow, Cindy and Matt cooked a lovely dinner for us, and we hung out and watched TV. Matt's issue of Maxim got passed around that night...I've never flipped through it before, and I thought it was a great magazine. I know some people find it absolutely appalling, but I like it. Granted, they have a bunch of risque pictures of half naked women, but nothing I haven't seen in Chinese GQ. Maxim has a bunch of interesting and informative tid bits. Which brings me to my next topic. I got an email from a reader, who stumbled upon my site. He wrote: "I found your page when I was looking at your boyfriend's page. Doesn't it bother you that he has all those other women on his website? I hope I never treat my girlfriend like that! Hope he treats you right! You deserve better than that and tell your boyfriend that I said he should be ashamed of himself!" Wow...his girlfriend has a VERY loyal boyfriend. But no, it doesn't bother me that Aric has pictures on his website. I don't find if offensive, nor am I insecure about it. He had them up before we started going out, so why should he take them down now that we're together? It brings traffic to his site, and we even joked about me putting up an Asian Women page just to bring in more hits. HAHAHA (But with friends like Ivy, Bett, Cin, and Wil, I'm sure I'll get plenty of hits). Seriously though, I'm a firm believer in not changing your whole life around just to accomodate your significant other. Why?...what's the point? Having a significant other is suppose to enhance your life, not make it miserable. And misery is a point in time when you come to the realization that you have changed and compromised so much that you don't even know who you are. That's not what I want for either of us. Aric is free do do whatever he wants, whenever he wants. But that's coming from someone who went into Rock-Za to get her boyfriend a T-shirt. *shrug* The way I see it is...if I don't trip over the stuff my guy-friends do, why would I trip over what my boyfriend does? He's essentially my friend...my best friend really. =) Aric treats me great, so there's no cause for complaint. If you think that Asian Women page was bad, you should see what his desk, at work, used to look like...I'm surprised no one slapped him with a sexual harrassment suit! HAHAHAHA I caught this stupid cold....and I was doing so well, too. *sigh* I've been taking this cough syrup at night, so it pretty much knocks me out, and I haven't been dreaming. I have recollections of pieces of dreams, but nothing complete. Like last night, I drempt that my dad was a gymnast, and I was a little girl, and he did flips and stuff just to entertain me. Hmmm, wierd! Have a nice day! Countdown: 4 more days till Y2K! |

12/22/99
I'm flying home tonight. I had a really nice and relaxing vacation....did a lot of interesting things. On Friday night, Aric, Mike, Cary, Phi, and I went to a coffee house in Westminster. In San Jose, I've seen those heavily tinted coffee houses accentuated with neon lights, but never dared to go in. I'm not a coffee drinker, so if I do..it's usually just Starbuck's. So anyways, we went to coffee, and uh....it's interesting. The servers there wore stuff that left little or nothing to the imagination. The drinks were good, and you can watch TV or play video games....but I'm sure that's not why guys go. hehehe Saturday, we went shopping at South Coast Plaza, then to Aric's company party. Which was very impressive! I'll post pictures as soon as I get them from Danny. Sunday, we met up with Wil, Tony, and Tony's parents in Monterey Park for lunch. Checked out the Import Showoff in Anahiem. Saw more scantily clad women. Had dinner with Ed and Sue at the Spectrum, then rented movies. Monday, we got more shopping done. Met Wey for dinner, and finally saw Toy Story 2. =) Tuesday, we finished all our Christmas shopping. *whew!* Went to see Dralion....which is a fantastic show! I can't really compare it to any other Cirque Du Soleil show, since I've haven't seen any, other than Allegra. For touring information, click onto cirquedusoleil. Today is just a kickback day. We're going to see Duece Bigalow (Ivy's favorite movie) later. Hope you guys didn't miss me too much. HAHAHA Have a great day!

12/17/99 THANK GOODNESS IT'S FRIDAY! =) I'm all packed and good to go. I'm looking forward to my trip to Southern Cal. The weather shouldn't be as cold as it's been up here, I get to relax, I don't have to worry about getting up early, and most importantly...I get to see my man! YAY! There are disadvantages and advantages to being in a long distance relationship. For me, the disadvantages are: seeing each other once or twice a month, the costly charges incurred by the monthly phone & cell bill, and missing out on sharing simple pleasures such as Blockbuster nights or dinners with friends. The advantages are: being able to maintain our respective lives without feeling bad about neglecting one another (since we're both really busy individuals), racking up frequent flyer miles, and... the biggest advantage being the fact that he is an extraordinarily wonderful guy and he makes it all worthwhile. I'm sure he has his own thoughts on this subject, so you can check it out by clicking on Sonic's cloud. Last night a bunch of us went to Tony's surprise birthday dinner at Khan Toke (which is the best Thai restaurant I've ever been to. It's located on Geary and 24th, in the City). Much thanks and kudos to Virginia, the gracious host, for inviting and treating us all. Let me just say that Tony and Virginia are the sweetest, most generous people I know! You guys rock! Once again, for those of you who are interested in seeing a great show this Saturday, go check out Rose Ball 2000. For more information, click onto clubzen . Happy Friday and drive safely! |

12/16/99 Slowly but surely, my webpage is starting to take shape. I need to give major props to Aric, my webmaster, for putting this whole thing together for me. THANK YOU!!! Starting this weekend, I'll be learning how to do everything myself, which is part of the fun of having your own webpage. Also, it can't leave me completely helpless when my webmaster gets bored and decides to paste my face onto A-mei's body and make me look like a complete fob. HAHAHA! If you didn't catch it, it's on the bulletin board. Next week, I don't have to go into work at all. It's one of the advantages to working in high-tech. Shut-downs, baby! =) I'll be out of town for most of the week, so I'm really looking forward to that. But for those of you who are kickin' it in the Bay Area, go check out RoseBall 2000. It will be held: Saturday,
December 18, 1999 For my Dating Game section, I already have two willing bachelors...very cool! Keep in mind that this is just for fun, and to give people a chance to meet new people. I'm not into the whole match-making thing, since I think love has an amazing way of working itself out. But hey...you never know, right? Well, I've got tons of cards to write and gifts to wrap. Is it me, or is Christmas creepin' up faster this year? My friend, John, and I agreed to do our annual Christmas shopping in September next year....or so we say. Have a nice day! |

12/1/99 Got a late start this morning, and I have a feeling that it's just one of those days. Paperwork, paperwork, paperwork....I've got tons of paperwork to do, but I can't help wondering if Aric packed enough socks for his business trip. Hmmmm? I share a cube (more like a rectangle) with three guys, and sometimes I hear more than I'd like to....you know, locker-room talk. It's cool, I'm learning a lot. hehehe Nothing too exciting today....I can feel it. =( |
