3/29/00 Happy Birthday,
Denise! ...Miss D-Nice, if you're nasty! Denise and Lyle are visiting from Hawaii! I can't believe it's been 8 months since I last saw them....it didn't feel like that long ago when we hung out at Lyle's beach house, partied at Oceans, ate Lomi-lomi salmon out of a cooler at karaoke, got really buzzed at World Cafe, and braved Club Rockza and Venus. Wow, time flies! Last night we had dinner at Camrahn Bay in San Mateo. That place is pretty yummy. I forgot to grab a business card, but it's on the corner of 3rd Avenue and B Street (i think)....it's across from Sushi Sam's.
By the way, notice how I've been adding pictures to my journals like "show and tell"? Thanks to Wey, I've been photo-documenting everything. Pretty cool! =) For those of you who are still eagerly awaiting Wil's wedding pics, please be patient. Aric went through over a hundred pictures from his digital camera last night, and he took twice as many with Sis' camera over the weekend. It should be up by this weekend. Buy Lotto! Have a nice day! |

3/27/00 I saw
yesterday. What can I say? I'm a new fan of Jet Li.
I've never seen any of his movies....not a single one. And I discovered that he made over 27 movies while I was cruising his website today. Whoa, baby! Another guy that was "retinally pleasing" was Russell Wong.
He bulked up a lot since his watermelon scene in The Joy Luck Club. Mmmmmm-mmmm. =) The movie was dope. Go check it out. Everyone's been asking me today about Wil's wedding. It was wonderful, great, fantastic!...touching, sweet, and heartfelt, yet one of the rowdiest weddings I've ever attended. It was cool because everyone had a fun time. Ultimately, that's what counts, right? I've got so many pictures to post from the weekend. Be patient with me, and I'll have 'em up as soon as I possible. Guess who caught the bouquet and garter? hehehehe Have a nice day! |

3/23/2000 COUNTDOWN: 2 more days till Wil & Tony's Wedding *egads!* Well, we're in the home stretch now! Family and friends are starting to arrive today from out of town. Wil and Tony seem rather calm. Well, guys, if you start to feel a tad bit nervous, I say "kick back a couple of shots of Crown 'n you'll be ALLLLLL good!" Seriously, I'm really happy and excited for you guys! Don't worry...everything's gonna be GREAT! And imagine...this time next week, you guys will be sipping cocktails on the Promenade deck taking in the views of the Carribean. =)
Which reminds me, last weekend when we were going over the wedding agenda at Fresh Choice, one of the FC employees asked me who paid, and I instinctively said, "my brother-in-law". All of a sudden, Ivy, Bett, and Wil's heads popped up in disbelief...followed by, "........eeeeeeew!". hehehehe Hey, calling Tony my brother-in-law is not half as weird as it's gonna sound when Wil starts to refer to him as her husband! EEEEEEEEW! =) CONGRATULATIONS to Wil and Tony! |

3/20/2000 COUNTDOWN: 5 more days till Wil & Tony's Wedding *yikes* Did everyone have a nice weekend? Saturday, we threw a surprise party for our girl, Cin! Except we didn't execute the "surprise" part as smoothly as we'd hoped for. We were completely unaware of when she walked in. The guys were glued to the basketball game on TV, while Bett, Wil, and I kept a 'lookout' on the balcony. She stood at the front entryway totally dumbfounded among balloons & banners of her favorite character:
We had dinner at Shik-do-rock, and played Taboo. I know, we're pretty wild and crazy! Happy Birthday, Cin! Also, today is my friend, James' birthday. HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I don't have a picture of him to post (actually, I have tons of pictures...but I don't think he would be cool with that). HAHAHA It looks like a very busy week ahead. I'll try to keep y'all posted though. Have a nice day! |

3/16/2000 COUNTDOWN: 9 more days till Wil & Tony's Wedding *zoiks* Sorry for the lack of updates. Been real busy lately. Last week went to Tahoe for Wil's Bachelorette weekend. The formula went like this: 8 girls, 1 spacious cabin, lots of snacks, chick flicks, music, and alcohol....it was one big pajama party! On Saturday, Wil treated us to massages at Caesar's . *ahhhh* It was so relaxing! Afterwards, we went hot tubbing, swimming, cleared our pores in the steam room, and had a leisure lunch at Planet Hollywood. That night we got our groove 'n' drink on at Club Neros 2000. I'm sorry...but that club is so cheesy. The ratio of guys to girls is like, eight to one. And....what's a nice way of describing the majority of people there? Uh...it was really undiversified....yeah, that's it. If you wore a beer stained wife-beater, you would feel right at home. But that didn't stop us from having fun. We partied with some guys from England. They bought us "buttery n*pples" and twirled us around on the dance floor. As Wil would say, in her best british accent, "we had a jolly time with those blokes".
Much thanks to Wil, Ivy, Cin, Bett, Char, Heather, and Eva for a great weekend! Oh, another cool thing happened last weekend...my friend, Rich proposed to Millie (his girl of 7 years)!
To avoid getting pinched, don't forget to wear green tomorrow....it's St. Patrick's Day! Have a good one. |

2/24/2000 Happy Birthday, Levi! Have a GREAT one! Sorry for yesterday's short update. I was incredibly swamped! So where did I leave off? Oh yeah...Matty's birthday. We celebrated at Tita's Restaurant This place is great! Clean, cozy restaurant. Friendly service, fair prices, and good food. They serve amazing Cocomac Shrimp, Poki, and Malasadas. Everything on the menu looked and smelled really good...unfortunately, I couldn't eat meat that day. Twice a month (the first and fifteenth of the lunar calendar), I'm a vegetarian. It's kind of a Buddahist thing, but I do it for my mom. She's a strict vegetarian, and has been for over 20 years. She would never force the rest of the family to become vegetarian, but I think eventually I'd like to. It's healthier. I consider this two-days-a-month as training....discipline. Because it always falls on a day my friends and I plan on going to Korean BBQ or something. =P I also get an incredible craving to gnaw on beef jerky on my veggie-days. Weird. Anyhow, Tita's serves a yummy veggie stir fry. Cin had saved me some Spam Musubi, Cocomac Shrimp, and Poki so I can enjoy it the next day....but the minute the clock struck midnight, I was all over that! =) Thanks, Cin! I spent the rest of my long weekend relaxing with Aric. It was great! We didn't do much, but had a lot of fun anyway. *sigh* Speaking of Aric, he got an anonymous email via this site: "The fact remains, you have pictures up because you yearn for those things. You take care of your civic because it's your only "ride". If you have other rides you might not care so much about your civic... From a person who knows, one usually puts up pictures because there's is something about what's in them that you yearn for. And no one is questioning that you'll treat your civic right, just that that's just settling for something when you want something else. If that's the arrangement that you guys have, that's great. You and Peg look like you guys are having a good time. I just wanted to point out something to you that you probably don't want to hear. That you can take care of somehting, but you don't 'love' it. (Perhaps now that you've gotten so far, you think you can do better...). Excuse me for keeping myself anonymous. If both of you are truly happy, I don't want to offend either of you." I'm not offended. But I don't understand what the BIG deal is? So Aric has pictures of Asian Women on his page....so? I don't have a problem with it. Do I question his feelings for me because of them?...nope, not at all. What if he was single and had Asian Women up?...does that make it acceptable? And why? Does that imply that once a guy gets a girlfriend, he forfeits his rights as an individual to have pictures up of things he finds interesting? If that were the case, Aric might as well take down the pictures of cars too. And while he's at it, he might as well tear down his entire webpage and put up a new one....solely dedicated to me, me, me. That should convince doubting people that he's a loving and committed boyfriend. But that would be stripping away everything I like about him....his individuality. I'm almost confused as to where this person stands on this issue. Why analyze so much? We're happy with each other because we can be ourselves....it's not an "arrangement" we have. It's called mutual friendship, respect, and love. Enough said... Aric also posted his view on this subject matter in "Guy's View". Poor fella, everyone's giving him such a hard time for having some measly pictures up. HAHAHAHA *shaking head* I still don't see what the big deal is. Have a good day! |

2/23/2000 Happy Birthday to T.J & Evain! Wishing guys a huge birthday cake with lots o' candles, and enough air in your lungs to blow 'em out! =) So how was everyone's long weekend? Not long enough?....yeah, I agree. I saw "Boiler Room" on opening night. I wanted to see it for Giovanni Ribisi, while Wil wanted to see it for Ben Affleck. But Vin Diesel definitely left an impression on me. So much so, that on Sunday night, Aric and I went to see "Pitch Black". I liked both movies a lot. Saturday, we celebrated Matty's Birthday at "Tita's" in the City.
Today's been a hectic day, so I'll continue this tomorrow. Have a nice day, and good luck to all you Lotto players out there! |

2/17/2000 I know, I know...I've been lagging on my updates. Been really lazy lately. Oh, before I forget, I have to sing "Happy belated Birthday" to my girl, Vee. Happy Birthday to youuuuuu,
Last weekend the whole gang went down to LA for Ivy's birthday. They all went to see Ivy's favorite show - Les Miserables. I didn't get to go, because I had something more important to do....what was it?...I totally forgot....hmmmm, anyway, I heard they all had fun. That's good. *sniff* Actually I had a pretty good weekend last week. I hung out with Wing on Friday, and we did our usual movie rental-thing. We watched "The Astronaut's Wife"...which I'm sorry to say, but the last two movies kinda, uh...sucked...and that's because he picked them. So I think I'm entitled to pick the next one. hehehehe I also got to kicked it with Bett and Matty on Saturday night, and Bett again on Sunday. I love kickin' it with Bett...we always have so much fun. Even if it's just going down every aisle at Target. So, how was everyone's Valentine's Day? You know, it's not just a holiday for lovers (hahaha, that word makes me think of Wey), but for anyone you care about. I got cards, candy, picture frames, flowers, earrings, v-day dinner, hugs and kisses from my nieces, Sis, my girlfriends, and Aric. Awwww, thanks a bunch you guys! =D So what's the plan this
weekend? Okay, I know it didn't
rhyme, but you don't always have to, ya know? Have a nice day! |

2/1/2000 I can't believe it's already February! I'm still recovering from New Years Eve. hahaha Okay, no, but time really flies! At-A-Glance, it looks like a busy month ahead...Chinese New Year, Ivy's birthday, Valentine's Day, Matty's birthday, President's weekend, Wil's Bridal Shower, and the very dreaded 29th. I psyched myself out over the whole Y2K-thing, and everything turned out fine. Now Aric and Mike are convinced that the real deal is going down at the end of this month. And just to show you that I'm not exaggerating when I say these guys are "serious" about being prepared for world devastation, here's a picture of Mike on New Years Eve (no joke):
Last night I was helping out at Sis' liquor store, when this guy came in and wanted to know if we were interested in buying a computer. He said that he had two HP Pavilion computers (with DVD, 800MHz, 40GB, etc) that he was willing to sell for $400 a piece....monitor and keyboard included. Only thing was, he wouldn't let us plug it in and check the harddrive. So after much debate, he left. I called and consulted with Aric and Wey, to see if there was even such a product out by HP. Found out there was...and it's worth $2500! Damn! So then Sis and I were like, "awwww!"...totally bummed out. I asked Aric to email the specs of the HP Pavilion 9690C PC to us, and after checking it out, we were relieved to see that it looked nothing like what that guy was selling. *whew* So today I cruised over to Fry's, and looked at all the HP Pavilions they had. Fry's doesn't even carry the 9000 Series (at least not at the one by my work), but they did have the 8595C....which is still pretty damn sweet! I had lunch with Craig today. I haven't seen him since August. There's something to be said about the power of a scent. Not to say that Craig reeks or anything...well, maybe. HAHAHA, nah, just kidding...but he has a certain smell. And that "smell" always reminds me of a certain time. Not so much a moment or incident, but a time in my life....which happens to be my old Berkeley days. I mean, I've seen him countless times since Berkeley, but his "smell" will always reminds me of that time. Maybe it's his laundry soap or something. Carolina Hererra perfume has that affect on me too. It reminds me of a summer when I used to go swimming with my neighbor at a community pool. We were like 7 years old or something, and his mother would take us. She wore Carolina Hererra, and their house and their stationwagon smelled like her. Interesting. I got the pictures developed from Wey's birthday party and from the looks of it, we all had a lot of fun. What's cool is, there are some pictures I don't even remember taking. HAHAHA I'll post them asap. Best picture award has to go to Danny, Aric, and Rob for their imitation of "Brutal Menage Tres" & Most exposed award has to go to Phi and his ass. *zoiks!* |
