For our 30th Anniversary, we travelled again to Hawai'i, visiting the Big Island (Hawai'i) for 10 days and Moloka'i for 4 days. We've tried to give a flavor of the trip with both pictures and some description of our adventures. Since many of the pictures are large, I've broken the report into multiple smaller pages. Follow the links above to each of the islands, and to a review of the wonderful Bed and Breakfast Inns we visited. Although there are many web links throughout the pages, I have also included a summary list under "Links"

For instance, above you see us on a kayak trip, not on the ocean, but on one of the irrigation ditches built at the beginning of the century (1900 that is) to carry water from the rainy, mountain side of the island to dry flatter side for growing sugar. There's not much sugar grown here any more, but the locals know that the tourists will come to almost any "attraction."

When we first visited the Big Island in 1994 there were lots of places we couldn't go, just because of the terrain. So this time we rented a 4WD pickup and went wherever we wanted!

But please don't tell the rental company!
