I have always loved working with wood - scroll sawing,
clock making, tole painting, etc., but I
discovered wood turning rather late in life. When I
did discover lathes, it was love at first sight, and it
was definitely a "turning" point in my life.
Before becoming a turner and pen maker, I was a psychotherapist
in private practice for many years. I loved my work, but
there came a point when the desire to express the
artist/craftsperson side of me was finally strong enough
to pull me out of my office. I landed smack in the middle
of a mountain of sawdust, wondrous tools, and a great new
kind of work. Being a turner and pen maker gives me great
satisfaction in working with my hands and heart, to create
attractive, artistic, and useful objects out of some of
the most beautiful materials in the world.
Besides being a wood turner, I am also a wife,
mom, grandmother of four, avid mystery reader, computer
nut and dog lover.
I hope that the artist in you enjoys your visit
here, and that you allow that side of your
personality plenty of time and space in which to
play and to be.
Thanks for visiting!
