This place on the web was put here as a method for us to share our remote control fun with all of you. This web site is provided for the promotion of RC Combat and the Palomar RC Flyers Club. This site pertains mostly to a group of us that enjoy the sport of RC Combat and share in the fun at the Palomar RC Flyers club field. THANKS!!! Special thanks to AREA 52, HOBBY PEOPLE, HOBBY TOWN, HATTRICK, TRENEFFR/C, PURE-TECH, and DAVID DROWNS. They provided help with some fantastic raffle prizes in support of our events. EVENT SIGN UP We are ready to take sign-ups now for our first event of 2009. I will be sending any completed sign-up forms on to Palomar R/C Flyers. There will also be sign-ups available at www.rccombat.com for those of you that frequent that web site. Feel free to sign-up in both places. The sign-ups just let us know how many contestants to prepare for. You can access the sign-up form and review the event details on the calendar page or just click the link below to sign up. RC Combat Here is an explanation of RC Combat for those that don’t know what it is all about… Remote controlled planes are flown in a confined area towing 30 foot long crape paper streamers. A round of combat normally has four to twelve planes flying against each other at once. The idea is to cut the other pilot’s streamer while keeping them from cutting yours. Steamers are cut by flying through the streamer and cutting it with a wing or the propeller of the plane. Points are scored for each cut and each foot of streamer that is kept intact for a round of competition. Combat action is fast and exciting. It is common to see multiple mid-air collisions by planes traveling in excess of 65 MPH with top speeds in some classes over 100 MPH. |
