Another brewery in the boomtown days of Roanoke was the Robert Portner Brewing Co., located at the corner of Shenandoah and First Streets.

Another early view of Downtown Roanoke is this photo taken on July of 1932 looking East on Campbell from First Street.

This is looking West on Salem Ave. from Jefferson St., again in July of '32.

The street is busy with people chatting at Jefferson and Campbell around the turn of the century.

The Texaco station at Grandin and Memorial had a charm that the later version couldn't match.
