The serpentine road up
Mill Mountain.
The newly constructed
road had substantial guardrails to prevent autos from careening off
the mountainside.
The concrete road may
have doomed the Incline, but probably made it possible for many more
people to enjoy the spectacular views of the Roanoke Valley.
