Acceptable Use Policy

 Basic Guidelines

Students will be:

* following the acceptable use policy

* following the discipline policy

* taking care of the equipment

* listening and following directions

* respecting themselves and their classmates

Acceptable Uses of the Internet are:

* Use of electronic information are for educational uses only

* It will not be used to e-mail, submit, publish, display or

retrieve/download any inappropriate material, including material that is defamatory, abusive, obscene, profane, gang-related, sexually threatening, racially offensive or illegal.

* Students will access sites designated by the teacher only. If the student should get to an inappropriate site or a site that makes them feel uncomfortable, they should notify the teacher immediately.

* Students will notify the teacher if their password is lost or stolen.

* Students will not disrupt the network by downloading unauthorized files (music, video, etc.) in violation of copyright laws.

* Students will follow all District Policies and Student Handbook as

written.

 

The use of technology is a privilege, not a right. Students must adhere to both classroom and school district’s guidelines. Any inappropriate use of this technology is subject to consequences and subject to all applicable laws.

By signing permission below, your child may have access to the Internet. Students and parents should be aware that no filtering system is completely effective in preventing access.

 

Students will be using technology in the classroom for class projects, simulations, WebQuests, presentations, word processing and other technology based learning. Parents, please WRITE X” in the “yes” or “no” ON THE LINES to grant or deny permissions for the following:

Permission to:

Take your child’s photo for school assignments ________

Hang your child’s photo around the school_____________

Place your child’s photo on the Internet_______________

Hang your child’s work around the school______________

Place your child’s work on the Internet

Use the classroom computer and school computer lab_____

Use the classroom phone with teacher’s permission and monitoring___________

Use the Internet for educational purposes____________

Listen to the radio or CD’s that have been edited for content and do not contain the “parental advisory” label _____________

Watch DVD’s or Video’s with the PG rating_____________

 

I understand and will follow the guidelines of this acceptable use policy. I will use the computer for school purposes only. I understand that if I do not follow these rules, I am subject to consequences of the school discipline code and state and federal law.
