Tempe asks residents to reduce over seeding this year
TEMPE, Ariz. - To help conserve water, the city of Tempe is cutting back on
the seeding of winter rye grass and encouraging its residents to do the
same.
Homeowners can reduce maintenance costs, lower water bills and save water by
cutting back on or eliminating winter grass seeding. Last year, during the
winter months, Tempe reduced its single-family residential water use by 10
percent.
The Valley is entering its ninth year of drought. This has resulted in low
water levels in Salt River Project reservoirs which are the primary source
of Tempe's water supply. Please do your part in this conservation effort.
