IKEA Contest - WIN AN IKEA HOME OFFICE AT VALLEY METRO WEBSITE

WIN AN IKEA HOME OFFICE AT VALLEY METRO WEBSITE

Tell Why Telework Makes You More Productive

PHOENIX (October xx, 2004) – Valley Metro will give teleworkers a first chance to win a complete office set from IKEA. As the Valley prepares for the first IKEA to open in Arizona, Valley Metro has partnered with the popular furniture store to educate commuters about the benefits of teleworking. Commuters who want to work from home at least one day a week can win an IKEA home office set-up on ValleyMetro.org.

During October, designated as Telework Month by Valley Metro, commuters can go online to enter and win an IKEA home office furniture set up. Telecommuters are more productive and report being more satisfied with their employers according to Valley Metro’s 2004 Employer Telecommuting Study.

“Thanks to IKEA’s generous contribution, this is a great way for Valley residents to turn over a new leaf and learn about teleworking and its benefits, like increased productivity and schedule flexibility,” said Susan Tierney, marketing coordinator for Valley Metro. “What a way to start new – with a new home office!”

By visiting ValleyMetro.org, commuters can find contest details to win an IKEA home office furniture set-up. This personal office set-up may be just what one lucky person needs to increase productivity, get more organized and find that perfect life and work balance.

When contestants log onto ValleyMetro.org they will find a full list of the benefits of teleworking and the “Proposal to Boss Toolkit.” This kit provides information for employees to present to management if they do not currently don’t have a telework program at their business.

Lars Meyer, store manager for IKEA Tempe said, “Partnering with Valley Metro is a great way for us to say thank you for the warm welcome and we are looking forward to being a part of the Valley. Not only does this contest get Valley residents excited about our opening, but it also encourages the important message of teleworking and what it can do for individuals’ work productivity.”

The contest will run from October 1 – 31, 2004. Those interested in entering the contest for a new IKEA home office set up can log on to ValleyMetro.org for contest details.
