Independent Consumer Group Announces Annual Awards for Best In Children's Toys and Media
November 2004 (Newstream) -- The Oppenheim Toy Portfolio announces its annual awards on November the 1st with the release of the 12th annual edition of their book, OPPENHEIM TOY PORTFOLIO 2005: The Best Toys, Books, Videos, Music and Software for Kids (suggested retail $12; ISBN 0-9721050-2-6). Co-founder Stephanie Oppenheim will appear on NBC's TODAY Show tomorrow morning to launch the book.
"Products are considered on the basis of their age and developmental appropriateness, educational value, safety, long-term play value, and the ultimate test- the fun factor. We look for both innovative and appropriate uses of new technology as well as classic formats that every child should know - even if they weren't invented yesterday, " says President and noted child development expert Joanne Oppenheim.
"We not only test the toys, we send the best of them on to the real experts, our network of family testers who confirm or question our first picks. By the time a product makes it to our list consumers can feel confident that they will be bringing home products that have made a hit with kids, too" notes co-author Stephanie Oppenheim.
