Lindsey Taylor Named 34th Fiesta Bowl Queen


TEMPE, Ariz. – After three months of interviews and appearances, Lindsey Taylor was crowned the 34th Annual Fiesta Bowl Queen at the JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort and Spa in Scottsdale. The Fiesta Bowl Queen’s Coronation marks the beginning of the Queen’s reign over the Fiesta Bowl’s 2004-2005 Festival of more than 50 events.

Of the four finalists, all currently enrolled at Arizona universities, Taylor was selected to wear the esteemed Fiesta Bowl crown based on several judging qualifications and criteria, including community involvement, scholastic achievement, poise, personality and an essay submission.

The selection process included several panel interviews, television interviews with 12 News and public online voting.

The Queen and Court will represent the Fiesta Bowl throughout the season at such events as the Hole-in-One, Parade, National Band Championship, Insight Bowl and Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.

Meet the 2004-2005 Fiesta Bowl Queen:

Lindsey Taylor, 21, is a junior at Arizona State University majoring in Justice Studies. A member of Devils Advocates, she is also a member of the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society. Outside of school, Lindsey spends much of her time working at a local fine foods store and providing childcare for various families in the Valley. Lindsey is from Tempe, Arizona.

Court Members:

Kelsey Massee, 20, is a junior at Arizona State University majoring in business and communication. A member of START (Student Admissions Relations Team), she is also president of Devils Advocates, a UNI 101 peer facilitator, and diabetes awareness advocate. Kelsey resides in Tempe, Arizona, but is originally from Shorewood, Minnesota.

Jessica Wheeler, 21, is a senior at the University of Arizona majoring in communications. Currently serving as president of the Pi Beta Phi sorority, she is also a member of the Blue Key National Honorary, the University of Arizona Ambassadors and a Project SHINE elementary education tutor. Jessica is from Phoenix, Arizona.

Tina Zabalza, 22, is a senior at Arizona State University majoring in broadcasting. A member of the Student Speaker’s Bureau, she is also involved with SPARKS, has been a four-time Maroon & Gold Scholarship recipient and works as a server at a local restaurant. Tina is from Gilbert, Arizona.
