Maricopa County Fair features Spiderman, Scooby Doo, Double R Exotic Petting Zoo, Monster Trucks, Juggling, Clowns, Hypnotist, Carnival Rides, Animals, Exhibits, and Youth Science Fair.

The 2005 Maricopa County Fair is gearing up and ready to go! The annual 5 day event will begin Wednesday, April 13th. Opening day will feature lots of specials! Everyone is free until 3pm! That"s right⬦everyone! All seniors are invited to attend. Everyone 55 and over will receive free admission all day on opening day. Also receiving a special discount will be all SRP employees. County Employees will also receive a discounted admission. If carnival rides are your thing, be sure and purchase a discount unlimited ride ticket at Food City or the fair office.
SWe are very excited to see the fair shaping up to be a great family community event,⬝ says Michael Searle, Executive Director. SPeople will get to see some old favorites and we have some new and exciting surprises in store.⬝
Lots of great entertainment is scheduled. Don"t miss Kobert"s Amazing World of Birds, Jeremy the Juggler, Skip Banks The Balloon Man, the Double R Exotic Petting Zoo and wonderful local performers from throughout the county. Also slated to perform is award winning country artists, The Doo Wah Riders. Saturday will feature Cold Shott and The Hurricane Horns. Sunday is chock full of Hispanic music. Sunday will also be the return of the annual demolition derby. And if thrills are your thing, don"t forget to get your tickets to the Monster Truck show. Both Friday and Saturday evening"s shows will highlight everyone"s favorite monster trucks, Bear Foot and the Oz Monster. New this year for hot rod enthusiasts will be modified lawn mower races!
Thursday will spotlight the youth of the Maricopa County with Student Appreciation Day. All students are invited to attend. The Read to Ride Program will culminate on Thursday, rewarding kindergarten through 6th graders who read 6 books with free admission and free carnival rides. Special performances by local hip hop artists, Cut Throat Logic and The Phoenix College Dancers will be featured.
Some very special guests are scheduled to appear! For all you superhero fans, get out your autograph books and get ready to meet...the Amazing Spider-Man. Appearing all 5 days of the fair, come out and meet Spiderman face to face, maybe even get your picture taken with him! Also new and for the kid in everyone, don"t miss special appearances by Scooby Doo! Scooby will be at the fair to visit with fairgoers Thursday through Sunday.
Hypnotist Suzy Haner will be performing Thursday, Friday and Saturday. If you"re feeling adventurous be sure and volunteer to be one of her subjects!!! It"s a hilarious show, fun for the whole family. Be sure and visit the Safety Zone, brought to you by SRP. Great shopping, wonderful food, daily parades, camel rides, livestock shows, the county"s best on exhibit and thrilling carnival rides will all be part of your visit to the fair.
