New Parents Safety-Net Test Helps Families Learn Online Exploitation Risks
The Internet gives children a world of information - but it also exposes them to potential dangers. Cyber-bullying, pornographic pop-ups and adults posing as kids in chat rooms are just a few threats facing today's young Internet users.
Recent studies by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children show:
- One in 17 kids online has been either threatened or harassed online
- One in four children has had unwanted exposure to pornographic material online
- One in 33 pressured by an adult to meet in person
