VALLEY METRO'S NEW BUS BOOK IS NOW AVAILABLE
Service changes to take effect January 23
PHOENIX - Valley commuters can get their free copy of the new bus book
at local transit centers, city and county offices, and Valley libraries,
as well as on the bus. The new book contains the latest updates to bus
schedules, routes and maps, which take effect on January 23.
The updated bus book also provides tips for riding the bus and how to
read bus schedules. For added convenience, major route changes are
outlined inside the front cover. Bus book information is provided in
both English and Spanish. Riders are encouraged to pick up a bus book
and keep it as a reference.
Service changes are as follows:
- New Express Route 571 - New commuter service from Surprise to
downtown Phoenix/State Capitol area.
- Increased frequency on Sundays in Tempe on Route 56
- Grand Avenue Limited - extension of one afternoon trip to
Surprise
- Schedule adjustments - Red Line, Blue Line, Green
Line-Avondale, Routes 0, 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, 35, 41-Avondale, 43, 45,
60, 61, 66, 76, 81, 96, 106, 112, 170, Express 533 and 541, and ALEX
- Route changes - 7 and 156
- Schedule adjustments and route changes - 70, 72 and 128
Riders can plan their trips using Valley Metro's online Custom Trip
Planner at www.ValleyMetro.org . The
Custom Trip Planner offers riders a customized itinerary for their
travels - with options for the fastest route, fewest number of transfers
or shortest walking distance between bus stops.
