Many Wiccan covens follow some version of Wiccan Law which has been handed down throught their tradition. This code of Wiccan Laws is usually known as the Ardanes or Ardaines (Ordaines). The most popular modern version of Wiccan Law is A New Wiccan Book of the Law compliled and edited by Lady Galadriel of the Grove of the Unicorn.

Within the PhoenixSpirit Clan, we believe in using what works. Most collections of the Ardanes are archaic and contain principles and ethics which often are anachronistic in todays world. Being an eclectic coven, we believe in using that which works, refining that which is outdated but which has value and discarding that which has become obsolete. Since we are also an egalitarian coven, we believe in deciding such issues by consensus. In the matter of completing our Ardaines, we have not yet completed that consensus process. When we do, those Ardaines will become a part of our book of shadows and will be posted in this space.

In the meantime, we recommend that you visit Lady Galadriel's sight and view a copy of her compilation as an example of how one coven has updated the Ardanes for modern use.
