~ The PhoenixSpirit Clan ~

San Diego, CA

The PhoenixSpirit Clan is a coven currently forming.
The PhoenixSpirit Tradition is an Eclectic NeoPagan path founded by Catherine Deville, and is based on more than a decade of study and practice in Wicca and Eclectic NeoPaganism.
The PSC Tradition has it's ritual roots in Wicca and incorporates the rites and rituals of the Church of All Worlds (CAW), but PSC does not prescribe any balanced spiritual path. While the PSC tradition carries the flavors of our experience, it is truly eclectic and pluralist in spirit, an organic faith which grows and changes as our members do. PSC is an initiatory tradition, but claims no "lineage" in the traditional sense of the term, having received its initiatory "credentials" through an eclectic coven, rather than through a British Traditionalist (or Gardnerian) line.
We began our first cycle of Wicca 101 and Seeker's classes in September (Mabon, 2006.) We are still accepting inquiries into the Coven and we are hoping to build our central core of Initiates out of this upcoming class, so please read about the tradition we're forming and let us know if you are interested. The Wicca 101 course (4 classes) are open to the general public and prepare you for participating in circles with us, so if all you're seeking is a celebratory coven or if you would like an introduction to our tradition of Wicca/NeoPaganism to advance your comparative religion knowledge, the Wicca 101 classes may be for you. The Seeker's classes are also open to the public, but are a more in depth, college level, exploration of Wicca and Eclectic NeoPaganism, so serious students interested in exploring Wicca or NeoPaganism and college students of comparative religion seeking to learn more about a minority religion may be interested in this 6 month course. The Seeker's class is also required of students interested in pursuing initiation.
Since we are a small and young
group, some members of PSC also participate in First UU San Diego's Earth
Centered Spirituality Circle (A local CUUPs Chapter) and supplement
our own religious education program with participation in First UU San Diego's
Religious
Education program. First UU's ECSC holds open rituals and Pagan
centered functions which PSC members may attend. PSC members also
participate in other Pagan community activities, such as Pagan Pride and pagan festivals,
and we often take such activities into consideration when planning our classes
and activity schedules.
If you
are in the San Diego area and are interested in the Church of All
Worlds,
please contact us. The Church of All Worlds is undergoing transitional
restructuring and is rebuilding from a "hostile takeover", but
the tradition of the PhoenixSpirit Clan was originally conceived with the
intention that the coven would be in affiliation with the Church of All Worlds
and PSC would now be considered a CAW Tradition, as it borrows much from the CAW
training guidelines and philosophies. Even though we are not currently
actively associated with the Church of All Worlds, I still hope to form a
San Diego proto-nest and to participate in CAW's rebirthing process. So if
you are interested in either the PSC Coven, or the PSC Nest, please contact us.
In the meantime, please feel free to use the information here if it will benefit you, but realize that it is perpetually under construction. We're currently undergoing a major revision of the site. I am redoing everything page by page, so some links may be broken. Please have patience with me. I'm trying to get things up as quickly as possible, and in priority order.
