 FAQ

Your original photos will not be damaged by our process and will be returned with you finished artwork.

All our custom PhotoFusions are created by fusing 8x10 originals in the portrait orientation (i.e. 10" vertically, 8" horizontally), however this does not mean that you must submit 8x10 originals. Regardless of what size originals you submit, we scan them and create new prints that are used to build your PhotoFusion artwork.

The only tricky issue when sending photos that are not 8x10 is that they generally will not scale to 8x10 without some part of the picture being cropped out. This problem also arises when digital photos are emailed. If the digital photos have not been adjusted to have a horizontal/vertical pixel ratio of 8/10, then some part of the picture will be lost when it is scaled.

If you do not include any cropping instructions with your order and the photos require cropping to achieve the proper size, then we will use our artistic judgment to crop the picture. As a general rule if we do not have instructions we would not crop out a whole person from a photo. When a photo is balanced and full (i.e. difficult to crop we will generally add white space to whatever dimension is necessary to achieve the correct proportions.

If you are mailing your photos we highly recommend that you print out the appropriate size cropping template for each of your original photos. Note the original photos do not have to be the same size. Cut out the template windows and secure them to your photos so we know exactly how you want the photos cropped. You can use a template that is smaller then the size recommended for a particular original size, doing would indicate that you want the selected region enlarged to 8"x10".

When emailing images that are not correctly proportioned, please include detailed cropping instructions.
