Descendants of Carl Friedrich Kienow/Caroline Zarling

Carl and Caroline arrived in New York on May 5, 1874, aboard the ship Wyoming. They were accompanied by son Ferdinand, age 25, daughter-in-law, Fredericka, age 25, and daughter Albertine Kienow, age 14. Son August came separately in 1872 aboard the City of New York. Their descendants include the Burnett Township Kienows (Kienow/Schroeder), the South Dakota Kienows (Kienow/Bartz), and the Nebraska Kienows (Kienow/Vorpahl). I believe that their fourth son August may be founder of the Fond du Lac, Wisconsin Kienows, but more research is needed to demonstrate that connection. The name Caroline Zarling has appeared only once (Saint John's Church, Burnett) and the name and origin of the couple is uncertain, although Berlin, Daber and Messons are mentioned. A key name for research in Pommern. The International Genealogical Index lists films number 2034749 and 2034690 as having a Caroline Friederika Kienow, born Jul 1817 and 1818. This is a good place to start looking for her. Also, Robert Knebel has provided an important list of towns: The Town of Daber
