FEMA Trailor Park Outreach
The day that started at 2am. We drove over to the Lalonde's house for prayer. The Lalondes are a vital part of the Donaldsonville community, always helping out. But more importantly they are great friends of ours. We arrived over there with the Rougons not far behind us. From 3-6 in what the bible calls the "Fourth Watch" we prayed. For three straight hours we prayed for the outreach and as the Spirit led, for other things. That was powerful, I really have no way of describing it, other than it being awesome. Then we had fellowship and breakfast. After that, we proceeded to drive over to Ele at HPC.
The outreach itself was pretty neat, I was named the photographer and here's some of the pictures I took.

We actually went to individual trailors to let them know we were there. (Mrs. Gayle and Mr. Kevin)
We were even able to minister to some of the security guards
Praying for the rain to stop. (which it did)

'Tis Mr. Kevin and I!
The security guards were really cool. I learned that they have it pretty rough though. They work 12 hour shifts 7 days a week for 3 months. In the 12 hours they are off they are sleeping in a tent that isn't air conditioned. After working for 3 months (90 days) they get to go home for a week (7 days), then they have to come back. In three months time we get about 26 days off plus evenings to spend with our family. Most of them don't even live in Louisiana either.
The medical part of the outreach went well, we weren't swamped, but we weren't twiddling our thumbs either. God really heard our prayer and made it something we could handle. And for the testimonies, there were a bunch. I would name them, but it is much better to ask me in person :p We have at least one known salvation that day through our efforts. It threatened to rain on us, but each time we prayed and God held it off until we left. God is just so cool the way he works. Afterward we went to eat lunch with the Rougon's at Lonestar (we left the trailor park at around 12:45ish). Ever since the government has been pulling out of caring for these people (they stopped feeding them 2 days before we arrived and a team led by Johnny Green dropped off some food, unfortunately I did not take any pictures of it), and the doors for ministry have been opening up. One security guard even asked if we could hold a church service in what used to be the cafeteria. We will be going back to the trailor park on June 3, and if you want to be a part of what God is doing over there, give either me or my mom a buzz.
