I am frightened by the lack of emphasis upon the teaching of history these days. Many would ask why I am so concerned about history when many students today cannot read, write or communicate effectively in the English language, let alone do basic math or have a rudimentary understanding of science. The dumbing-down of education is part of a larger effort on behalf of the Left and its pet contributors to ensure that the American public is in no position to fight off their bids for power and control. The fact that history is taught as an afterthought only serves to keep the public unaware of the historical grounding for the coup that the Left is trying to perpetrate.
Adolf Hitler was a man hell bent on procuring power for himself, establishing fascism as a form of government and turning Germany into his own personal social experiment. Although the Left's ideology is different their aim is the same- only the "Ism" involved is socialism rather than fascism. Hitler got the idea while he was in prison, writing Mein Kampf, that the only way a democracy (such as the Weimar Republic) could be defeated was to infiltrate the system, then assume more and more power until the system could be turned over- democracy used to defeat itself. (The United States is actually not a true democracy - it is rather, a representative republic- meaning that we are governed and our legislative process is carried out through elected officials.) What Hitler did so well was to galvanize the German public to support his agenda through a carefully orchestrated campaign that not only appealed to German nationalism but also appeared to mitigate what was to the Germans a scathing defeat: the Treaty of Versailles; and create a national scapegoat- the Jewish population.
Some people will be shocked that I compare opposite ends of the ideological spectrum- socialism and fascism- but the tactics employed by both Hitler's Nazis and the minions of the Left in this country are remarkably the same.
Race baiting is one good example of a Hitler tactic that the Left uses in this country. Hitler's targets were the Jews, along with to a lesser degree Gypsies and Slavic people. The Left's targets are white Anglos. Hitler blamed the Jews for the economic decline of Germany- the Left blames white Anglos for the disparity in income between whites and minorities and the higher crime rate in minority communities. The Left would blame anything negative upon white Anglos, and goes one further in portraying "cultural diversity" to be the new religion- unless you happen to be white Anglo, then you're a racist, just because. It's not PC to be a white Anglo. The PC agenda of the Left states anything that has to do with white Anglos- our form of government, our history, the abomination that was slavery, has contributed to the decline of our society. The study of history in our schools has become "white-washed," pun intended, where anything sacrosanct or even remotely germane to a student of history, including the form of government set forth by the Framers of the Constitution is portrayed is being irrelevant, having been instituted by "dead white males." The fact is their blatant lies, distortions and entitlements that enslave and pander instead of educate and empower have contributed to the lowering of standards in education, in increased crime and poverty among minorities and whites alike and serve to subjugate the very people they claim to "serve".
By portraying government not as an empowering force but as a caretaker, so many people have wrongfully gained the opinion that government owes them. Instead of citizens we then become subjects- subjects to the Left's elite who would keep the public ill educated and dependent upon them, all so that the Left may remain in power.
The Left attacks our Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the other Amendments. Its idea of "gun control" violates our Second Amendment right to "keep and bear arms." Most Conservatives are readily aware of the Second Amendment controversy but there are many other fronts with which the Left erodes our freedom. The Left attacks our First Amendment right to freedom of speech- by effectively using its sympathizers in the media to keep Conservative commentators off of the TV airwaves and out of major news publications. Our First Amendment rights are further violated when government and school employees are forced to join unions- the strong-arms of the Left- and pay dues to support them and their leftist agendas and socialist political candidates. These are agendas that may be against some people's moral, ethical, political and religious beliefs, blatantly anti-Conservative, anti-religion agendas. The Left portray themselves of champions of "morality" when they defend abortionists, child molesters and murderers, while at the same time denouncing traditional families and people of faith as being "Intolerant" bigots. The Left also has eroded our rights under the Thirteenth Amendment- freedom from involuntary servitude- through legislation that exempts labor unions from anti-trust laws, legislation that allows unions to infiltrate our schools and government and forces employees to join the unions and pay dues to stay employed. These are just the beginning, and I could name much more.
I will forever maintain that PC, the decline of American education, and the usurpation of power by the Left is in fact a treasonous coup, a coup intended to use the mechanism of our representative republic to orchestrate its downfall. "Social democracy," and other euphemisms for socialism and communism are not acceptable options for most enlightened Americans. What would Thomas Jefferson have to say to his so-called "Ideological heirs"- the Democratic Party? Would he even recognize them- not having been familiar with Marx or Lenin- those guys being after his time- or would he denounce them for the abominations they are? Remember Khruschev and his diatribe - "We will bury you?" Our fear is not so much from Russia- though they could form an alliance with China that could prove devastating- but from the communists and socialists of the Left, the detestable ideological spawn of the defunct Red Empire.
its not too late to learn the lessons of history. We owe it to ourselves, our country and our children to learn the correct study of history, not a whitewashed version, not a PC version but the real thing. We need to make sure we know the truth. Liberalism (a.k.a.: socialism and communism) in this country is following the path of fascism in Nazi Germany. There is nothing new under the sun, just a different "Ism."
Conservatives must take heed and recognize the erosion of freedom for what it is and learn some lessons from history.
