Topic: The Story of Joseph – one of Jacob’s sons.

In general: The Bible stories don’t just exist so that we can learn facts about the past. They convey to us truths about God.

Remember:

God is powerful; God makes promises — and God keeps His promises; He’s gracious (He gives undeserved love; He forgives; He’s compassionate.) He loves us. He’s righteous (sin does get punished).

Today we look at Joseph, and how his life fit into God’s plan

Genesis- chapter 40 & 41 – God’s plan begins to unfold

Why is god doing this? Wants to preserve promise. Joseph has changed. He gives the credit to God.

Chapter 42-44 – the visits by the brothers

Chapter 45: Joseph makes himself known

Chapter 50 – God’s plan is clear as crystal
