October
2009
Brethren,
how time flies. Fall is here and it is time to pull the coats and
ties back out of the closet. All officers will need to wear a suit
for the October Stated.
Brethren, October’s stated meeting will be Past Masters Night. Please come out and show your support. Brethren, at the blood drive that was held on September 14th we had 57 people to sign in and we collected 51 units of blood. Brethren, we have another blood drive coming up November 3rd at Trinity UMC. Poquoson Masonic Lodge is a sponsor of the blood drive. Be sure to mark your calendars, as I would like to see a real good turnout. Even if you can’t donate, you can still support the cause by helping out. Brethren, at the stated for October, once again we will start to take monetary donations to purchase toys for the kids at CHKD for Christmas. It went over so well last year we decided to do it one more time. We are starting to collect money earlier this year. Brethren, the Peninsula Server is a great source of information regarding activities throughout the various Masonic Districts we interact with. You are strongly encouraged to join the Peninsula Server so that you can receive the current information for Lodge meetings, deaths in the Craft, degree work, picnics, Bring-A-Friend nights and special activities that you may want to attend. You must have a Yahoo account which is free and easy to obtain. Simply go to www.yahoo.com and register with them. Once you have a Yahoo account, go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/peninsulaserv/ and follow the following directions: After entering the web page, there should be a blue box on the right side of the page which states “ This Group”. Click on this tab, enter your information and you should receive an email from the Webmaster accepting your membership. Make certain you state your position in your Lodge, if you have one, or simply enter Brother. You will then receive information that is posted to the Peninsula Server. Brethren, if you would like to be added to our e-mail roster so that you can receive e-mails and updates pertaining to the lodge, please send me your e-mail address so I can add you to the roster. Currently, we do not have an up-to-date e-mail roster on file. Please send your e-mail addresses to me at mjoyner771@verizon.net and if there is something that you would like to see added to the newsletter just let me know and I will see what we can do.
