Additional
services are available for Artists:

Hardwood Base Designs by Gary Maiers"
Handcrafted
bases include your choice of fine hardwood, shape,
size, routed edge, and stain - with a satin or
gloss finish. Custom, ornamental brass name plates
are optional and can be shipped attached to the base
at the location you desire. (See
wood samples.)
Available
for local artists, I can fire your ceramic sculpture
anywhere from cone 018 to cone 6 and am limited to 18
inch maximum height or width. Although I have over 20
years firing experience, I can make no guarantees that
your piece will come out perfectly without breakage.
Repair service also available if needed.

Finish
your fired piece by applying a simple or complex patina.
Patinas for ceramic pieces can be simple wax finishes,
or complex metallic patinas with many layers of metal
coatings, dyes, acids, and waxes. Finishing service
includes mounting and mounting hardware if a custom base
has been ordered.
If
you are an artist and you are interested
in having a CD Presentation made of your work, I offer
this service. You can choose from a simple jury presentation,
gallery presentation, or full catalog presentation -
depending on your needs.
If
you are an artist without a website (or would like
your current one redesigned), you can contact me to
discuss this service. You provide the photos and content,
I'll design the website on your ISP Web Space. Presentation
only, no forms or interactive web pages. (See
details and package price)
If
you feel that you can benefit from having me critique your
portrait sculpture, I now offer this service by email. I have offered
this service for free in the past but, unfortunately,
the number of requests and amount of time involved in
writing up a comprehensive critique has made it necessary
for me to charge a fee for this service. A similar service
can be obtained through membership with the Portrait
Society of America
To
submit a piece for critique:
- Email
several views of your piece as attachments (JPG, GIF,
or PNG format) to Heidi
Maiers.
- Indicate
the name, approximate size, and medium
of the piece, including what was used to make the
patina if applicable. You may include specific questions
about the piece that you would like answered.

Submit payment of $40
- You will receive a critique
of the work via email within a week. Note: The
constructive criticism you receive will cover both the
strengths and weaknesses that I observe regarding the
piece submitted. If you don't want to hear anything
negative about your work, please do not purchase a
critique. The fee is non-refundable.
